TypeIt4Me aTextaText is recommended for individuals who frequently type repetitive text, such as professional writers, developers, customer support representatives, and anyone looking to enhance typing productivity and efficiency.
I've been using aText for quite some time, and it's been amazing. If you are typing a lot, I'm sure you would be able to optimize your work tremendously. You can have abbreviations for your closing email phrases, URLs, and whatever can come to your mind.
Also, I'd suggest to think of a trigger character and use it at the beginning of all abbreviations. That way you will avoid collisions. I'm using a comma. For example, these are some of my abbreviations:
You get the idea. Once you get used to the app, it will save you a lot of time and typing.

Typeit4Me: The original expander, I think. It's great and offers features not offers on others. Maybe more importantly, the crew behind it (a father and son) are great. Typeit4me: the original text expander for macOS. The feature set is the best I’ve found for my needs and text expansion is very fast. The UI is a bit long in the tooth, but version 3 with an updated UI is in the works. Also, customer service is great. It’s a family business and inquiries are answered quickly and comprehensively. I use a text expander (TypeIt4Me, but there are a lot on the market). I can divide up the comments into active sets, so I can have sets for a particular class or homework, a set for grade grubbers, etc. I can even include variables and hyperlinks in my expansion. I think I have a solution for you. I use an app called aText (there are many similar, but this one's my favorite) on my Mac and my PC to make my own shortcuts for phrases and symbols, like this. Source: about 2 years ago
Not quite the answer you're looking for, but I use aText, so I can make my own date format, and my own shortcut, and it can be universal — and I can make all kinds of shortcuts for all kinds of other things, like symbols, emojis, and phrases. This way, I never have to worry about apps that don't have a YYYY-MM-DD option. :). Source: over 2 years ago
