Those have complicated stacks that likely won't serve the person that can't grasp a CLI SSG. https://getpublii.com has a simple GUI and is just a directory on your computer (inside the Dropbox directory for crude backup?). - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
Perhaps you want own your domain and website setup. Perhaps you don't have time to be a server admin keeping a public facing CMS up to date and secure. https://getpublii.com runs on any cheap shared hosting and is zero maintenance. Your website will also be an easy to backup directory on your computer. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
Very nice! It looks a bit like Publii [0], but the editor part is cloud hosted instead of running as an app on your machine. [0] https://getpublii.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
Publii is one of the few competent attempts at a desktop CMS app. https://getpublii.com/ They do a lot of things right. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago

I'd like to ask for some help regarding on how to "migrate" my website to my personal storage, more specifically how to do that while having everything made with Publii. Source: about 1 year ago
I haven't used it, but Publii[0] might be along the lines of what you're thinking of. I ran across it in a previous HN discussion, and it seems to be static site generator with a pretty user-friendly graphical interface. [0]: https://getpublii.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Static site generators combined with GitHub Actions/Cloudflare Pages? Mostly cost-free and maintenance-free. You can skip the GitHub Actions part if you go for something like Publii, but as far as I am aware they do not have a proper multilingual option. Source: about 1 year ago
I personally also find Publii interesting. Among other things, this tool also offers a Markdown editor. However, I have not yet made my own experiences with it, since I am satisfied with Hugo. Source: about 1 year ago
I’m trying out Publii (https://getpublii.com/). It’s an app on your computer that gives a nice interface for building pages and managing content. Supports themes, syncing and uploading to your host (I’m using AWS S3 + Cloudfront for the moment), has a few extensions, more I can’t remember rn. Totally free and open source. I've spent months pondering what to do, what to use. I was just going to do it myself but it would take ages. I then stumbled upon Publii and I am so happy lol, I haven't actually launched a site with it yet but it's exactly what I was looking for. Source: over 1 year ago
If it were me, I would show them Publii, AutoSite and Hagen, then ask which they would prefer to use. Source: over 1 year ago
Publii is a static site CMS for desktop users. It is currently very blog/post focused, which might not be what you're looking for. Source: over 1 year ago
I know it’s not exactly what you’re looking for, but if it’s strictly a blog, I’m a fan of static site generators like https://getpublii.com - easy to set up, and you never have to worry about security, cost of hosting, scaling or traffic. Throw it onto GitHub Pages or really any $3 webspace (+Cloudflare if you really have a lot of visitors) and you’re fine forever. It’s all static HTML anyways. Source: over 1 year ago
For small static sites, Publii could also be a valid option. Not hard to add content and just upload to host. Source: over 1 year ago
Maybe a static site made with Publii CMS may fit your needs. Source: over 1 year ago
I've also just started to look at Publii as a website creation tool as a replacement but it dies lack security for multi-user use :-(. Source: over 1 year ago
You can always try Publii (https://getpublii.com) and host it on Netlify. Only cost will then be the domain. You can technically host the site without a custom one however (you’ll get a name.netlify.app automatically). Source: over 1 year ago
If you have no experience with html, css and coding in general, I suggest you to try Publii CMS (getpublii.com). Source: over 1 year ago
Lookup Jamstack, if you're starting from zero, try Publii and deploy it to Github Pages. You'll only need to pay for the domain. Source: over 1 year ago
