Digital Organization with Craft Docs: Key Features and How I Set It Up!

Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Craft Docs and what they use it for.
  • Feature request: Backlinks for Text Blocks
I use UpNote in part because it's not block-based. Blocks really screw up the way I like to edit. But if it's important to you, and if you're on a Mac you might look at Craft. It's not as user-friendly as UpNote, but it's just as feature-rich, and is block-based, with fantastic reciprocal linking. Source: 11 months ago
  • Multi-purpose app recommendations
Have a look at Craft and it's templates. https://craft.do/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Reka.js - Build your own no-code editor ✨
Don't apologize! It was perfect! I'm sorry, I at first thought Craft.js was referencing craft.do, as they're both kind of page editors, so I didn't realize what it was at first. This is such wonderful work! Thank you for pointing it out to me! This looks like exactly what I need! Source: about 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Who is hiring? (February 2023)
Craft Docs (https://craft.do/) | Engineering (multiple roles) | Full Time | Remote (EU Timezone) or hybrid in Budapest (HU) or Edinburgh (UK) --- We're building an app for crafting beautiful documents and taking notes. Already available for 2 years, won the Mac App of the year 2021 award by Apple, good user base (individuals and business) and community (11k+ on Slack), raised a series B recently, plenty of runway,... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • Orbi is blocking Craft.do app and website
The website and app works on every other network (cell, non-orbi wifi). I've tried the app and tried the web interface for Orbi, but haven't been able to find any way to unblock a specific domain. It's also not listed in the "Armor" settings as being a blocked threat. I have two office locations, both of which use Orbi, and both locations won't load craft.do. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Update: Found what was missing
Organize your genealogical tree and documents using something like craft.do or notion.so, you can use it to track every generation and create to-do lists of what documents are missing. I also keep a folder in cloud storage with digital copies of every document and a text file with references and how to get another copy in case I lose it. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Does anyone use Craft as software for Zettelkasten or PKM?
I am getting on very well with craft.do. It doesn't have a graph but it backlinks notes to each other very well...I'm trying to bend it to the discipline of Zettelkasten. Is anyone doing the same here and can give me some advice or opinions if it is worth the effort? Source: over 1 year ago
  • Looking for bear alternative with web app and option to link dates (maybe calendar) with notes
Craft has both. I find Craft's UX overly complicated, and truth be told I never did wrap my head around now the date linking works. But it does meet your criteria. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Import and Organize your Kindle highlights. (A free Readwise alternative)
I use craft.do to organise all my stuff. Will there be an export feature for craft as well? Source: over 1 year ago
  • LPT Request: I am a high school student taking college level classes. they gave me a university email address. what sort of stuff can i do with it that i should know about?
These compile lots of cool discounts and benefits. But generally speaking, before you buy ANYTHING, check if a student discount exists, they might have individual solutions. For instance craft.do offers half off for students (and currently even has a "free for students" until October). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Notes Replacement
Bear is fantastic at what it does, but if you need any kind of rich text (especially color), it's not going to fit your needs. That's not to say you shouldn't try it, but I'd recommend looking at Craft (warning: block-based editing can be a PITA) and especially UpNote, which is somewhat similar to Evernote, but without the bloat. • Offline alternative for Notion
Craft.do is a great alternative to Notion. There's a desktop app and you can request access to the web beta. Source: about 2 years ago
  • New here
If you're looking for something a little more complex and feature-rich, but still fairly user-friendly, you might look into Craft. I really like Craft, and it has all the features I miss when using Bear (collaboration, multiple user spaces, colored text), but keep coming back to Bear because Craft is more work to use (e.g., there's no keyboard shortcut for formatting toolbar, and it's multiple clicks to bring it... • In the new Apple commercial. around 1:40 How does the guy draw something on the ipad & women on the imac sees that in real time. and everyone else i guess who's on face time. Because i guess it's not screen share or maybe I'm not sure.
Created a quick video to show the flow of getting it to open. Not sure if it is available in other places. I did find that using the Craft Docs app (http://craft.do) on my Mac, I was able to launch this experience by previewing, so as long as an app uses the macOS preview window, it should be available! • Digital BuJo for work?
Craft- a bit like notion but more focused on note taking and embedding media. It’s really polished and great to use but doesn’t support tags (yet). Also good for collaboration (ive read). This is the app to choose to spit out polished pdfs. Freemium. Https://craft.do/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Privacyfriendly foss notetaking app that stores locally?
Depending on the tradeoffs you're comfortable making, Craft might be a good option. It allows storing your notes locally / on a separate cloud and is a bit more polished in my opinion than the gold standard solutions (Joplin and such), but is closed source. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Desktop GUIs for Web Developers
There is also a niche for software that only targets Apple devices. Plenty of developers go this route, just take a look at Sketch, Panic, Craft docs, as a few examples. It certainly simplifies development, and if you're already in the Apple ecosystem it's great to scratch your own itch. If this sounds like your situation then SwiftUI is a great choice. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
  • Yet another "my favorite apps" post, but this time with descriptions and links.
Same with https://craft.do -- looks like a great writing app but asks to log in. No way I am storing my personal notes in the cloud. Source: over 2 years ago
  • What are some cool alternatives to Roam?
I believe you meant craft.do, not craft.io. The latter is a tool for product management. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Daily Evernote regret post
I spent the day trying out Craft today and I've had such a fun time writing and linking notes. It's very hard to replace Evernote as an "everything filing cabinet" though. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Alternative for Notion
Ended up using craft.do, offline mode available on iOS and data can be stored completely on your phone. Source: over 2 years ago
