  • Suggest a text expander/ Clipboard app for my use case
Typeit4Me: The original expander, I think. It's great and offers features not offers on others. Maybe more importantly, the crew behind it (a father and son) are great. The next major version (7) is in the works, and will hopefully offer some improvements in the UI department. It's not bad at all but needs a bit of a facelift. Source: about 2 years ago

  • Predictive Text app
Typeit4me: the original text expander for macOS. The feature set is the best I’ve found for my needs and text expansion is very fast. The UI is a bit long in the tooth, but version 3 with an updated UI is in the works. Also, customer service is great. It’s a family business and inquiries are answered quickly and comprehensively. • Fellow comment copy/posters, what’s your go-to software for compiling?
I use a text expander (TypeIt4Me, but there are a lot on the market). I can divide up the comments into active sets, so I can have sets for a particular class or homework, a set for grade grubbers, etc. I can even include variables and hyperlinks in my expansion. Completely saved my sanity. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Has anyone tried to automate replies to common student emails?
I don't do an auto reply, but I do use a text expander for common answers. (I use TypeIt4Me, but there are other good ones out there.). Source: over 3 years ago

Snippety mentions (7)

  • Show HN: I automated 1/2 of my typing
I’ve got to plug Snippety on macOS. I’ve configured it to work with my PowerShell scripts, so I can easily call out to OpenAI endpoints and then inline the response into whatever app I’m in. Plus, the dev is super cool and his product is well done. Not associated with it in anyway other than being a happy customer. https://snippety.app. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • SOAP notes--pediatric medicaid
I don't write SOAP notes anymore but I recently found a mac application called Snippety that has completely streamlined all of the redundant tasks I do. It combines text expansion with key simulation. You have to spend some time figuring out which keys are pushed to achieve your goal, but every time since then, you'll run the snippet and it'll do all the button pushing for you. Here's a few examples:... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Suggest a text expander/ Clipboard app for my use case
Snippety: Snippety is a more recent app. Its UI is slick and modern. It lacks some basic features to make it a full fledged expander at this point IMO, but the dev is receptive and willing to add features users request. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Snippety positive feedback (text expansion)
There are many questions about text expanders options on this subreddit. I wanted to give a shout out to the maker of Snippety, an option I only discovered recently. I loved the UI right away, but it was missing a few features (triggers and auto capitalization) to be a viable option for me. I contacted the developer, and 6 weeks later, they have been implemented! • Predictive Text app
Snippety: I just discovered Snippety recently. It’s also primarily aimed at programmers, but the feature set is a bit larger than Dash’s though it’s still missing some critical features for my needs at this point (delimiters, auto capitalization and CSV importing). That said, the dev responds to feeedback and seems willing to consider and add features. I hope so because the UI is slick and modern, ne text... Source: over 2 years ago
