Just in case anyone's interested, https://twinery.org is a pretty great editor and associated tooling for making your own CYOA games. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
How sophisticated your language is depends only on your whim, honestly. Even most automatization solutions like Make or n8n make do with just simple connections between node bubbles, with edges only signifying the execution flow. They balance it out with complex node editors, and values from other blocks are used in templates like how you would write a Nunjucks-templated HTML page. There is also twinery or inklewriter for simple text stories with an online authoring option. And Inform7 for full on text adventures, where you write the stories in a declarative manner as plain english. https://twinery.org https://inklewriter.com https://ganelson.github.io/inform-website/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Some sort of escape room backbone software that links together all of the hardware according to a script is such a neat idea. These days, my younger one is into https://code.org and she make things go around, do stuffs, etc. 1. https://scratch.mit.edu. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
So I am using code.org to make a platforming game, and if I am halfway off of a platform I slide off of it. Idk if this is a quirk with code.org or if I did something wrong. You can check the hitboxes by pressing debug sprites in the bottom right corner. Source: over 2 years ago
My school hosts the unit tests for digital literacy on code.org as the "assessment day" at the bottom of the unit. Is there any way to view the test before it is unlocked by the teacher on a student account? Source: over 2 years ago
My four year old was kicked out of his preschool class, and the school recommended I set him up with applied behavioral analysis. Though it hurt to read the email from the school, I don't blame them at all, he does have impulse control issues and doesn't always pay attention when others are talking to him.
