Recto is a WordPress SEO tool that finds "orphan" pages (pages nothing else links to, so Google barely ranks them) and fixes them by inserting a relevant internal link inside an existing paragraph โ€” prioritized by real Google Search Console traffic and verified live on the page. Bring-your-own-API-key (OpenAI/Anthropic), one-click WordPress connect, and a free connector plugin. It replaces Link Whisper and Internal Link Juicer and the manual orphan-audit grind in Screaming Frog + spreadsheets. $39 one-time per site, stackable. Live at rectoapp.com.

Ruby on Rails features and specs

  • Rapid Development
Ruby on Rails uses conventions over configurations which allows developers to build applications quickly. It comes with a wealth of built-in tools and libraries that streamline the development process.
  • Community Support
Rails has a vibrant and active community. This means a lot of third-party libraries (gems) are available, and you can easily find help and resources.
  • Convention over Configuration
Rails emphasizes convention over configuration, which reduces the number of decisions developers need to make. This can increase productivity and consistency across projects.
  • Built-in Testing
Rails comes with a strong built-in testing framework, making it easier to test your application and ensure that it works as expected.
  • Scalability Options
Although it has a reputation for not being the most scalable framework, Rails can be made scalable with good architecture and the right tools.
  • RESTful Design
Rails promotes RESTful application design, which means that it aligns well with best practices in web development and makes it easier to build APIs.

Possible disadvantages of Ruby on Rails

  • Performance
Ruby on Rails can be slower than some other frameworks, particularly for applications that require a lot of computation or have high traffic.
  • Learning Curve
While Rails makes many things easier with its conventions, this can create a steep learning curve for newcomers who need to understand the 'Rails way' of doing things.
  • Scalability Concerns
Due to its monolithic nature, scaling Rails can be challenging, requiring significant architectural changes and optimizations.
  • Lesser Flexibility
The conventions that make Rails easy to use can also be limiting. When you need to do something outside the typical Rails flow, it may be harder to implement.
  • Runtime Speed
Ruby, the language that Rails is built on, is generally slower in terms of execution speed compared to other languages like Java or C++.
  • Memory Consumption
Rails applications can consume a lot of memory, which can be a concern for large-scale applications or those with limited resources.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Ruby on Rails and recto.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

recto's answer:

Recto is newly launched and onboarding its first wave of users, named customers.

What makes your product unique?

recto's answer:

Recto is the only WordPress internal-linking tool that prioritizes REAL Google Search Console trafficโ€”it fixes the orphan pages that are one link away from ranking, not random pages. Three things, nothing else combines: (1) GSC-traffic weighting, so you fix what actually moves rankings; (2) paragraph-level inline insertion that's verified live on the pageโ€”the link lands inside a real sentence, never dumped in a footer widget; (3) a constrained anchor engine that can only reuse phrasing already in your content, so it never invents copy or hallucinates a link. It's a real crawler with its own engineโ€”not an AI wrapper. Bring your own OpenAI/ Anthropic key: no per-link fees, no usage ceiling.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

recto's answer:

Because Recto is a one-time $39โ€”and it replaces tools that bill you every single year. Link Whisper is $97โ€“$497/yr; Internal Link Juicer runs to $1,299/yr. Recto is $39 once, for life, per siteโ€”below a single year of the cheapest competitor, and it never renews. On top of price: competitors suggest links by keyword matching; Recto ranks by actual Search Console traffic and verifies every link live on the page. You stop paying yearly rent on internal linking and own it forever. Early lifetime pricing won't lastโ€”once it's on the major deal platforms, it's gone.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

recto's answer:

WordPress site owners doing their own SEOโ€”niche-site builders, content marketers, bloggers, in-house SEOs, and freelance SEOs/agencies, typically running 50โ€“5,000 pages. The classic Recto user has written a lot of content, knows internal linking matters, and refuses to hand-audit hundreds of URLs in Screaming Frog and a spreadsheet. Agencies stack it across every client site they manage.

What's the story behind your product?

recto's answer:

Recto started from a frustration every content site hits: you publish hundreds of posts, then watch half of them get buried because nothing links to them. Google barely crawls these "orphan" pages, so the content you paid to create never ranks. The existing fixes were either a $100/yr-and-up plugin or a manual grind in a crawler and a spreadsheet. Recto was built to do it properly and once: crawl the whole site, find the orphans that real search traffic says are worth saving, and place a verified internal link inside existing copyโ€”automatically. One-time price, because internal linking shouldn't be a subscription.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

recto's answer:

Recto runs on Cloudflare's edge stackโ€”Workers, D1, and Pagesโ€”for fast, global, serverless performance with no server to maintain. It connects to WordPress through a lightweight free connector plugin and to Google Search Console for traffic data. The AI anchor step is bring-your-own-key, compatible with OpenAI and Anthropic models.

Yes, there are other more trending frameworks; however, nothing reaches the productivity of Rails. It's simply unbeatable if you have a small team.

For example both SaaSHub and LibHunt were built on Rails.

Get Over Ruby on Rails โ€” 3 Alternative Web Frameworks Worth Checking Out
Disclaimer: I started working on this article before the big controversy about Basecamp happened. I donโ€™t want to make any point about this in the article. Regardless of what DHH and others are saying on different topics, Ruby on Rails is still a great piece of software and will continue to be. But there are some great alternatives as well that I would like to highlight.

The 7 best internal linking tools, honestly compared
recto crawls up to 10,000 pages and reads Google Search Console data to rank orphans by real impressions lost.
