For developers just starting out, PostHog is a free way to understand how your product is being used, without having to send any data to 3rd parties.

For enterprise customers, one data security becomes a key concern, or B2C businesses where using a SaaS solution is unaffordable, it's typical to see teams hosting an event capture platform, a data lake, and sophisticated analytics tools. The end result is that data scientists are needed and most developers don't have easy access to product intel. PostHog solves that gap - it lets everyone understand how your product is being used, without having to send data to 3rd parties, even once you have scaled to millions of visitors.

It has a JS snippet that can autocapture events, and pre-built libraries to push backend data to. Build up full user histories, visualize product trends, funnels, and run experiments with new features.

  • Data Encryption & Search
Thereโ€™s another service Iโ€™ve tried called NoteJoy that might be what youโ€™re looking for. Itโ€™s not on the same level of Evernote, but itโ€™s also catching up. They can do note creation of emails, and they offer end-to-end encryption, but their mobile clipping kinda sucks, and they donโ€™t support tables (yet), but those are features planned for 2023. Theyโ€™re also on my shortlist of possible alternatives. Source: over 3 years ago
  • which note-taking app are you using or used in past other than evernote?
I am currently checking out NoteJoy, which offers nested notebooks, code snippets, a web clipper and bi-directional linking. So far, I have enjoyed it and the synchronisation across devices is fast. The web clipper is not as good as Evernote's offering but it does pull the text and links with a link for the website at the top of the note. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • What's the best cross platform notes taking app?
Notejoy has been my go to for a few years now. Works great on iOS, Android, and Mac. Havenโ€™t used it on PC but Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s the same experience. I like the hierarchical notebook layout. Notes are stored in markdown so itโ€™s easy to move the data to another app if itโ€™s not right for you. Source: almost 5 years ago
