HearBack.app

Overall verdict

  • Floop (feedback-loop.io) is a solid, focused tool for teams that want to centralize and streamline the code review and feedback process, though as with any niche developer tool its value depends heavily on your team's specific workflow and integration needs.

Why this product is good

  • Centralizes code review comments and feedback in one place, reducing context-switching between tools
  • Helps development teams track and resolve feedback more systematically, improving review turnaround
  • Aims to integrate with existing developer workflows and version control systems
  • Can improve collaboration and communication among distributed or remote engineering teams
  • Provides structure to what is often an ad-hoc and scattered feedback process

Recommended for

  • Software development teams looking to streamline their code review process
  • Remote or distributed engineering teams needing better feedback collaboration
  • Engineering managers who want visibility into review bottlenecks
  • Startups and growing teams standardizing their development workflows
  • Teams frustrated with scattered feedback across multiple tools and channels

Overall verdict

  • HearBack.app appears to be a niche tool, likely focused on audio/hearing-related feedback, transcription, or communication assistance; without extensive independent reviews available, it seems to be a reasonably functional but relatively unknown service best suited for specific use cases rather than general-purpose adoption.

Why this product is good

  • Offers a focused feature set tailored to a specific niche (hearing/audio feedback)
  • Likely simple and easy to use given its narrow scope
  • May provide a lightweight, accessible web-based solution without heavy installation requirements
  • Could be cost-effective compared to larger, more established platforms

Recommended for

  • Users seeking a specific niche audio or hearing-related tool
  • Individuals looking for lightweight, web-based solutions
  • Early adopters willing to try newer, less-established apps
  • Small-scale or personal use cases rather than enterprise deployment

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Floop and HearBack.app.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

HearBack.app's answer:

Incumbents like Podium and Birdeye charge $250–$400+/month and bundle features most local businesses will never use. HearBack gives you what actually moves the needle — review requests via SMS, email, and QR code, plus AI replies that post automatically — starting with a free plan and a Grow tier at $17/month. There are no long contracts, no bloat, and no sales team standing between you and the product. You're talking directly to the founder who built it.

What's the story behind your product?

HearBack.app's answer:

I kept seeing the same pattern: local businesses paying $250+/month for bloated review management platforms built for enterprise sales teams — not for the salon owner who's cutting hair all day. Most of those features go unused. So I built HearBack to do the things that genuinely pay off for a local business: collect more reviews without the awkward ask, reply to every one without lifting a finger, and show up higher on Google when locals search nearby. I'm a developer, not a sales team — so the product does the talking.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

HearBack.app's answer:

HearBack runs on a Cloudflare-first stack — Workers for the API and backend logic, D1 for the database, R2 for object storage, and KV for caching. The frontend is built with React and React Router. AI review replies are powered by Anthropic's Claude. SMS delivery uses ClickSend, and transactional email runs through AWS SES. The entire platform is serverless with no traditional infrastructure to manage.

What makes your product unique?

HearBack.app's answer:

HearBack combines review collection, AI-powered reply generation, and local SEO optimisation into one tool, at a price point built for owner-operated local businesses, not enterprise budgets.

Most competitors either handle collection or replies, not both. Our AI Reply Employee writes and posts personalised Google review responses in your brand voice, mentioning your town and trade so every reply doubles as a local SEO signal. Happy customers go straight to Google; unhappy ones reach you privately first, so your public profile only reflects your best work. And the whole thing is set up in under 60 seconds.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

HearBack.app's answer:

Owner-operated local businesses that live on word of mouth — salons, barbers, restaurants, contractors, auto shops, dentists, med spas, cleaning services, and similar trades. Typically a business with 1–5 locations across the UK, US, Canada, or Australia that knows Google reviews matter but doesn't have the time or budget for enterprise review software. They want something that works out of the box without a 45-minute onboarding call.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

HearBack.app's answer:

HearBack is freshly launched and currently onboarding its first wave of early adopters across several verticals:

  • Hair salons and barber shops
  • Home service contractors (plumbers, electricians, cleaners)
  • Restaurants and cafés
  • Auto repair shops
  • Dental and medical practices

We're growing from the ground up with hands-on founder support for every early customer.
