The documentation is excellent and generally outclasses any Linux offerings. The Arch Wiki is pretty good and the Gentoo handbook also way above average, but neither beats FreeBSD's documentation. You need to know where to look, though. Don't go for the FreeBSD Wiki - it's a resource mainly for the developers and is often horribly outdated. Also available through https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/ and I now know that freebsd.org/handbook no longer gets me there but its fast from the menu on the webpage. ports/misc/freebsd-doc-en worked for me though you don't have to pick English or just one language. 24.3.2 in the (freebsd-13) handbook mentions how to get from ports and even build your own copy form its up to date sources.
