Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

CrochetPatternGen's answer

Next.js (static site on Cloudflare Pages), Python/Flask image-processing service (Pillow, NumPy), ONNX-based background removal (rembg/u2net), Docker on a small VPS, Cloudflare for CDN/WAF/DNS. No LLM in the chart pipeline — conversion is deterministic image processing.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

We launched in July 2026 and focus on individual crocheters rather than named accounts — no big customers to list yet. Early users are hobbyist blanket makers and Etsy pattern sellers.

What's the story behind your product?

CrochetPatternGen's answer

It started from a simple observation: people search "crochet cat pattern" thousands of times a month, but turning your own photo into a pattern still meant hand-tracing pixels or buying expensive custom patterns. At the same time, marketplaces were being flooded with AI-generated fake patterns that don't actually work. CrochetPatternGen was built to be the honest alternative — deterministic conversion instead of AI hallucination, with stitch counts and quality scoring so every chart is genuinely crochetable.

What makes your product unique?

CrochetPatternGen's answer

CrochetPatternGen doesn't draw patterns with AI guesswork — it converts real photos into stitch-ready crochet charts through deterministic image processing. Every chart comes with a controlled color palette and exact per-color stitch counts, so what you see on the grid is exactly what you stitch. It's also honest about what's automated: previews are labeled "digital preview" and AI-generated content is disclosed site-wide.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Three reasons: speed (photo to finished chart in under a minute, vs hours of manual tracing in chart editors), precision (per-color stitch counts that double as a yarn shopping list, which most generators don't provide), and honesty (no fake ratings, no undisclosed AI content, free tier that actually works without sign-up). It also covers five techniques — graphgan, C2C, tapestry, mosaic, and filet — including realistic C2C block proportions most tools ignore.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Crocheters who want to turn personal photos into blankets, pillows, and panels — mostly hobbyists making graphgans and C2C photo blankets, plus Etsy sellers who need fast, countable charts for custom orders. The typical user is a casual crocheter, not a designer: she has a photo she loves and wants to crochet it, without learning chart-editing software.
