As answered by people managing Alfacast Screen Mirror and Selfcommit.dev.

What makes your product unique?

Alfacast Screen Mirror's answer

We develop a new cross-platform UDP-based streaming technology from the scratch. This is a new generation peer-to-peer data transfer technology. This technology also introduces a new peer-to-many transmission feature. With the peer-to-many feature, users can stream content to multiple devices simultaneously in real time.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

To provide good picture quality we use modern video codecs. The app uses: H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9 video codecs and Opus audio codec. Our streaming technology based on UDP broadcast / unicast protocols. The connection between network nodes is initially encrypted, the app uses RSA and AES encryption methods. The extended version of the app supports video resolution up to 4K Ultra HD.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Alfacast Screen Mirror's answer

The maximum video resolution is up to 4K Ultra HD. There is a low latency playback feature. Automatic discovery of devices inside local network. Unlimited number of users on the network. Multiplatform support.

What's the story behind your product?

Alfacast Screen Mirror's answer

At the end of 2018, there was not universal, easy and simple software solution for broadcasting an audio / video stream for different OS. Most apps are not compatible with each other, for example: Apple AirPlay is not compatible with Google Chromecast. In some cases to broadcast a video signal, the user has to purchase additional hardware – these systems are not a complete software solution. Other systems are complex and require a lengthy setup process. We decided to design universal software solution for everybody.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Alfacast Screen Mirror's answer

We develop our system for everybody. The application already has a built-in multichannel broadcast feature. This feature allows you to stream content from your desktop to multiple devices simultaneously in real time. Our users can stream content: at university, at school, at home or in the office.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Alfacast Screen Mirror's answer

Consumers, educators, presenters, businesses, IT teams, and other users that need cross-platform screen mirroring, peer-to-peer streaming, or multichannel broadcasting across local-network devices.
