Anyone have experience with Neovim and Colemak or Devorak keyboard layout?

Monkeytype
  1. Colemak is a modern keyboard touch typing layout designed to be a practical improvement on QWERTY and Dvorak layouts.
I started out using colemak.vim from the https://colemak.com webpage. Rather quickly I found that there were some things that I didn't like about the configuration, so I started modifying it. Eventually I had enough changes that I uploaded a fork of the configuration:.

  2. Colemak Mod-DH is a minor modification to the Colemak alternative keyboard layout, moving the heavily-used 'D' & 'H' keys to the bottom row assignments for both index fingers.
I use Colemak-Dh and I don't remap any of the regular motions. The only thing I don't find comfortable on a Colemak-Dh setup are j and k (I have those remapped in the lowest row of my 5 row keyboard instead). I have caps+m/n/e/i remapped to arrow keys so I just use those homerow up/down arrows in place of j/k for motions.

  3. Monkeytype is a minimalistic typing test, featuring many test modes, an account system to save your typing speed history and user configurable features like themes, a smooth caret and more.

I opted for the slow learning option to keep my productivity up. I practice for about 30 mins most days on colemak club, keybr, and monkey type. The rest of the day I'll switch between using my new keyboard some of the time, but my old keyboard most of the time. My old keyboard is still qwerty. Switching like this will take longer to get up to speed on my new keyboard, but I can continue to be productive.
