Swisscows and Qwant are also good options, but both heavily rely on Bing, and in some cases pass your request on directly (which would include metadata like IP address), so will feed the Microsoft tracking beast to some extent.

Mojeek is great for privacy, and has a completely independent index, but its actual results aren't that great.

DuckDuckGo: Bang

StartPage was recently bought by a company that does targeted ads so people are concerned about its intentions link. DuckDuckGo still has the top spot in my mind. I use it all the time now. And it has some nice features like bangs.
