  • My take on a DDR soft pad mod in 2022
To remedy, I've been using this little app found from another thread. I keep this app open while running stepmania and it remap button presses solving the problem. It seems to poll quickly enough for my needs! https://www.mediafire.com/?asju7uk8shr81co Or there's xPadder - https://xpadder.com/ ($9.99) as a more rounded software solution as well. • PSA: If you are having trouble running the games then check this subreddit's wiki first. It has reliable fixes listed for each game.
Reliably good controller support is present in Verok's BO1 patch. The others games don't offer good controller support. You can try using a third party solution like JoyToKey or reWASD. There's also Xpadder and apparently Steam's Big Picture mode allows for this as well but I don't know about either of these and can't vouch for them. Source: almost 2 years ago

  • (PC) Adding "automatic drive" capability using Xpadder
I primarily use an Xbox One controller on PC and have found that holding down the right trigger button to drive for a long time puts a lot of strain on my right hand. Using Xpadder, I made a workaround allowing me to enable "automatic drive"; which was a feature available in Mudrunner. Xpadder costs $10 USD (one-time payment, regularly updated, no ads).
