Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about TripMode and what they use it for.
  • Why HTTP/3 is eating the world
It occurs to me that QUIC could benefit from a single kernel-level coordinator that can be plugged for cooperation - for instance, a dynamic bandwidth-throttling implementation a la https://tripmode.ch/ for slower connections where the coordinator can look at pre-encryption QUIC headers, not just the underlying (encrypted) UDP packets. So perhaps I was hasty to say that you just need SOCK_DGRAM after all! - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
  • Why havenโ€™t they put eSims into MacBooks yet?
I've had this app for that bookmarked for a long time but haven't tried it. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Macbook uses excessive internet data, cannot track down the reasons.
I use https://tripmode.ch/ for just such a thing. It works great, just whitelist the apps you want to have network access on a given hotspot and it blocks the rest. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Radio Silence alternatives? Or should I go with it
Might look into TripMode, among the others mentioned here. Source: over 3 years ago
  • App/shortcut that automatically puts Mac in low power mode when connected to non-home network?
You might also be interested in TripMode. It doesn't activate low power mode but does restrict your Mac's outgoing network connections when away from home wifi, which may contribute to power saving. Source: over 3 years ago

  • Iโ€™ve made an App to monitor and control your internet usage
How is this different from TripMode (https://tripmode.ch/)? The main UI is even identical. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Little Snitch vs TripMode 3 - monitoring my web traffic
Little Snitch (LS) is considered by many to be the gold standard. The aforementioned Lulu has a good reputation. The app Hands Off! Appears to be no longer developed (site offline). Then there's Radio Silence that may well fit your needs. Finally, one or more apps by Murus may be of interest but AFAIK these are not easy to configure and may be overkill for the average Mac user. I'm not familiar with TripMode. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Mac app for tracking bandwidth usage
Yea it does show the current processes, but not a consolidated app wise usage. (The kind of app I was looking for was TripMode as suggested by u/cortex13b , albeit a free version ). Source: over 4 years ago
  • [REQUEST] App to control network upload speed system-wide or per-app?
Or trip more for easier and quicker access control based on your connection Https://tripmode.ch/. Source: almost 5 years ago
  • macOS extensions are moving away from the kernel
TripMode (https://tripmode.ch/) for filtering application Internet access when you're running on mobile data uses a kernel extension. - Source: Hacker News / about 5 years ago
  • my (front-end) developer "life-hacks"
Tripmode is yet another app controled from the menu bar. It allows you to enable/disable internet access for specific apps. This can come in handy on your typical "workcation" when internet can be slow or expensive (for example when using your phone's internet connection) and you only want the crucial apps to be using your precious mbps'es. While running, it also keeps track of how much data each app is using. - Source: dev.to / about 5 years ago
  • CloudSync sucking up network bandwidth
From last few days I've observed too much network usage in my system. Found https://tripmode.ch to track what is causing this. Source: about 5 years ago
