So, something very strange happened to me for the first time. I was denied boarding on a Lufthansa flight. The staff at the airport kept changing their excuse, and every time they came up with something, I had to prove it was wrong. (for example they said the ticket which I got online (trip.com) was paid in cash, then they said I need a transit visa which I did not need...) in the end they said they can't let me... Skyscanner at times lead to websites such as trip.com which provides a ticket confirmation after 48 hours. I read somewhere that these thrid-party websites do bulk booking with airlines in order to gain bigger commissions. I book onced with trip.com and got the ticket within 48 hours. Source: 5 months ago
We booked everything else through trip.com so I'm hoping that will making things smoother, since they actually said they accepted foreigners. Source: 5 months ago
Alternatively if you are booking common routes, trip.com or Kiwi.com could hold the customers credit card details for you and middle man the transaction in a much safer way than holding the information yourself. You would still need their login to details which poses it's own risks. Source: 5 months ago
Lijiang: I had initially booked a fast train between Guilin and Lijiang, it would have taken 11 hours to get there. Then I found a flight on trip.com for the same price: cancelled the train, got refunded and booked the flight everything by trip.com without any problem. Lijiang old town is super nice, even if it has been "fixed" and there are many things to do around it (Tiger Leaping Gorge, Yulong Snow Mountain,... Source: 6 months ago
Proper fully paid flight e-ticket receipt confirmations FROM THE AIRLINE ONLY, with payment invoice details and/or boarding passes, NON-REFUNDABLE; local travel agencies, foreign operators and third-party online platforms (i.e. Trip.com, Kiwi, etc.) are NOT accepted; changeable and refundable flights booked with KLM, Air France, Lufthansa, etc. Are NOT accepted at this stage. The thing that makes me uncomfortable to how ridiculously much cheaper the prices on trip.com are compared to anywhere else. I'm talking a room going for $200 on trip.com vs >$400 on booking.com. That's a discrepancy that just smells like some kind of scam to me. Source: 8 months ago
For an additional €10/€20 off for every flight, download Trip.com app and choose language: French, country: France, currency: Euro. Source: 9 months ago
So I booked 2 flights through trip.com , I checked in the first one with seat selection and everything was fine. When I tried to check in the 2nd flight something crashed while I was trying to pay and now it says I have underpaid payment and I should call the reservation owner which is trip.com. My flight is in 2 days and in wizzair website it says I will not be able to check in at the airport unless trip.com... Source: 9 months ago
So my question is: how soon before a train trip, can you book online with trip.com? Are the tickets issued immediately, or within a few hours or in a few days? I cannot seem to find the info on their website. Source: 10 months ago
Hi all! I booked my flights from India to the USA (Delhi-Frankfurt-Chicago-Kansas City) through trip.com., and I will board all Lufthansa flights. Since they were all Lufthansa, I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that my baggage will be checked all the way through. I later checked my flight itinerary and saw that I will have to collect my baggage at Frankfurt and re-check them in. I do have a long layover (over 12... Source: 10 months ago
2 - Use trip.com for trains - it's all in english works easy and fast. Source: 10 months ago
Hmm...when was the last time you took a train ride in China? I just book via [c]trip.com nowadays. It's all e-ticket nowadays; you just scan the passport before getting on the train. Source: 10 months ago
Why even book the flight through trip.com then? Was it much cheaper than the airline web site? Source: 10 months ago
Holiday agency? No offense intended, but are you a boomer or something? Typically we 1) book flights where they are cheaper, usually it's directly from the airline, NOT trip.com, 2) book hotel on booking.com or trip.com, 3) research local attractions, roughly plan on what day we do what and just go. - AMEX refused my chargeback due to "insufficient evidence" despite me uploading a detailed 9 page PDF outlining evidence of: trip.com's cancellation policy stating they follow the airline policy and the travel agent acknowledging the temporary policy. Source: 10 months ago
Are you looking at the international version or chinese version? I'm looking at trip.com now and I can book/pay with Visa/Mastercard/AMEX/JCB. Source: 11 months ago
Go to insuremy trip.com and see the various companies, ratings and quotes. A good go to source. Source: 11 months ago
PAL would be the same (100 fare difference + rebooking fee if allowed) but am not sure how that works with a 3rd party (trip.com) involved. In the future, never use 3rd party sites, super hassle and these types of tickets are very low priority for the airline to fix in case something goes wrong with your original flight. Source: 11 months ago
I use 3rd party apps as well. Expedia and trip.com with no problems. Used it for international flights with multiple connections too. Source: 11 months ago
I buy train tickets through trip.com and have never had to 'register' my passport or anything like that. Just type the passport number in when booking your tickets then go to the 人工 channel at the station, and you're in. Source: 11 months ago
