I am moving from an ultra tab c to an air 3 c and strangely enough one of my apps (sync.com cloud storage) can be installed in the ultra tab c but it says its not compatible with the air 3 c device, even android is newer.. why? Am I missing something to fix/do? Source: 6 months ago
Depends on what you need, I have been sniffing around sync.com to back up my unraid. Will have to use a windows VM to handle the "backup". Source: 10 months ago
Sync.com might be unlimited right now but I highly doubt they will keep this up in the long run. And having to reupload after a few months sucks, especially with a slow connection. Every other service so far canceled this tier, or has some major asteriscs. Storage is pretty expensive, even if you operate at a huge scale so this is simply not a viable business model. Wait but sync.com does offer unlimited. And also Dropbox. These services are not good at all? Source: 11 months ago
What about a "Vault" type feature. If you've ever used sync.com their cloud storage has a separate vault where files are only stored in the cloud and not visible or available on the desktop app. I liked this feature as I would archive files that would I rarely if ever need but still wanted to keep them and it saved space. Nope, don't have time to do all of this. I need full cloud restore feature, like Dropbox or sync.com, but just wonder if there is any other. Source: 11 months ago
I have seen several places links to a white paper supposedly explaining sync.com's security model:. Source: 11 months ago
Well I dunno, my thread here revealed quite a few options for me, I will check the $36/monthly sync.com Unlimited option maybe next. If I find a way to directly transfer 38TB from Google Drive to it at max speed without me having to do it via my home internet. It's not cheap cold storage as I am looking for. But I still look for it, and who knows, eventually maybe someone will do it. I might look for options... Source: 12 months ago
Now, most cloud services will accept photos (onedrive, dropbox, pcloud, filen, sync.com etc) but most will not allow you to create albums and lack facial recognisiton and most don't take advantage of metadata. Ente has albums (big plus) , the beginnings of face recognition (just tested it, works well!) and the metadata is probably not there yet. Source: 12 months ago
This was my thought also, sync.com while cheaper is just not as robust for my needs. Source: 12 months ago
Do the same thing with multiple (2-3?) E2EE cloud services (I'm thinking filen.io, Tresorit, sync.com, pCloud). Source: 12 months ago
Ok everyone, I've managed to nearly degoogle my life, however the one thing I can't quite figure out is google photos. Email, calendar, contacts, docs, and everything else wasn't too hard, its photos and videos that is the hard one. I have a library of about 400gb or so when shopping around at other providers I generally need the 2tb plan. Moving to another big tech photo platform like Microsoft or whoever kind of... Other have previously experienced similar issues and the solution was to zip the file or not use sync.com e.g: https://www.reddit.com/r/Sync/comments/zylikt/cant\_move\_from\_files\_to\_vault\_using\_website/. Source: about 1 year ago
Sync.com has privacy security-first approach to cloud-storage. Sync offers zero-knowledge protection with end-to-end encryption, & 2FA. Is EU GDPR compliant. Source: about 1 year ago
I have 1TB that is included in my microsoft account. I plan to use it to send photos to clients as links. However, I'm also using it for some personal files. Nothing extremely confidential, I have sync.com+cryptomator for that. Source: about 1 year ago
I'm after some cloud storage, I saw some like Wasabi, B2, sync.com, IceDrive and pCloud... Source: about 1 year ago
Sync.com does offer a "vault" which is sort of a static snapshot copy of files and you could use the vault space as more of a true backup copy. It's not automated though, last I used it I you had to go to the local folder and right click to refresh the local folder to the vault (say, once per week or month). Source: about 1 year ago
If you accidentally damaged or deleted files, or were victim to a ransomware attack, those actions would be replicated in your cloud. You'd then be relying on sync.com's file history and rubbish bin to restore the damaged/deleted files. Source: about 1 year ago
Hi there, have you considered a sync.com plan? They have even unlimited storage plans ;). Source: about 1 year ago
I'm not super tech savvy so I can't use something that's difficult. I've been using sync.com for the past three years and it's worked flawlessly for my needs. I don't even notice it's installed on my PC and iPhone. Source: about 1 year ago
