  • The fastest tool for measuring anything on your screen
Shottr (https://shottr.cc/) is a great screenshot and annotations app and also includes this feature. Not a promotion, just a very satisfied user of the app; it's quite beautifully designed. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago

  • What is your favorite mac app that you just discover in first half of 2023?
Another app is probably Shottr, which is super affordable for what it does. If you're not a super power-user of screenshot tools and CleanShot X is too expensive, Shottr is perfect upgrade from the built-in screenshot tools. Source: 10 months ago
  • List of apps I use every day - Version 2023
Shottr: A tool for taking screenshots and sharing them with others. It offers more functionality than the native macOS tool and is much lighter than Skitch. - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
  • What tool made the biggest impact on your efficiency?
So many over the years, but most recently? Shottr. It's this tiny app that makes it really fast to capture and annotate screenshots with tons of options and hotkeys. Obviously this doesn't make the coding go any faster, but it's so much easier to communicate with clients and QA. My favorite feature is the counter tool, where each click adds a new circle with a sequential number inside. So I can be like "click the... Source: 11 months ago
  • Best screenshot/photo search app on macOS?
Shottr is hands-down the best screenshot app I've used, and it does OCR as well. Source: 11 months ago
  • My 2023 Mac apps & utilities
Try Shottr(https://shottr.cc/)(Free, 1.3mb), best screenshot app ever used, never going back to anything else again. Can't imagine how this many features can fit in a tiny app. Source: 11 months ago
  • What is the best built Mac app you’ve used?
Then I love Shottr for better screenshots, AppCleaner for automatically delete all the related files when deleting an app and ClipGrab to download from youtube any video/audio. Source: 12 months ago
  • Power User's Guide to the Galaxy
One area I'm not yet comfortable recommending an app for yet is for screen shots. I've used Shottr, but I can't say it better than any other, so I'm currently trying out Xnip. Source: 12 months ago
  • Oh really?
Or this free amazing app that will blow your mind. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What computer feature don't most people know about?
People have already shared the built-in ⌘⇧3 and ⌘⇧4 shortcuts, but I thought I'd plug Shottr which has several cool features over the native screenshot functionality, including:. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Show HN: Pawxel – (Yet) A(nother) Screenshot Tool
About a year ago, I sat down and wanted to replace the Windows screenshot tool Snipping Tool for myself, because I needed something at work that got more editing capabilities. From my macOS days I remembered the tool Shottr (https://shottr.cc) very well, but found nothing that was quite similar (in design & features, but mostly design ). Without further ado, the idea for Pawxel was born and I would never... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • I fell in love with Shottr, so I made my own free screenshot tool for Windows & Linux
Back when I had an MBA I really fell in love with [Shottr](https://shottr.cc) that is also very known here in r/SideProject. Just recently due to work related stuff I switched back to Windows and with that switched my desktop workstation to Linux. What I directly missed was a screenshot tool as fast as Shottr and what I really liked the most about it was the fact that the app didn't interfer when taking a... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is there screenshot app that has a library, like LittleSnapper from the good'ol days? Pixave is the closest I could find but it is not ideal.
Shottr has all of what you requested, BUT doesn’t have a library. It’s very stable and receives update frequently. It’s very easy to annotate and I give it a 9/10! Source: about 1 year ago
  • App LIST!!!
Shottr (Free) One of the BEST screenshotting apps I've ever used, so much you can do in such a small package, pin screenshots, scrolling screenshots, blur/pixelate or remove objects, overlay images, measure distances, text recognition (OCR) & QR scanner, zoom into any pixel, inbuilt colour picker, and extremely fast! All for free... Seriously, use it. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is there an app that will let me screen cap copy and paste selected areas of the screen??
I have a keychron k8 which has a dedicated screenshot button, I changed that to this method, and ctrl + screenshot button to Shottr, which is good for drawing arrows on things. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Name the tools you can't live without!
For MacOS, I give my praise to Shottr (https://shottr.cc). The OCR and blur tools are on point. Source: about 1 year ago
  • macOS notifications are broken
If you screenshot a lot, check out shorter. Way better than Apple's screenshot implementation, and it's pretty lightweight. I got it purely because you can configure it to automatically put screenshots onto your clipboard like Windows does by default. I can paste a screenshot in slack immediately after taking it 👌.
