I think you missed the point. Various democrats and media outlets [1] [2] were claiming that #releasethememo was being driven by Russian bots. In other words, it was not organic. Most of these outlets used the findings of ASD/Hamilton 68 for their articles. Source: about 2 years ago

CLint Watts' testimony before a couple Senate committees was really interesting. He talked quite a bit about sockpuppets and how these accounts amplify each other.
