  I had a premium sub for a month, only used it for at most a week. Feels bad but tbh I didn't find anything special that isn't already provided by free services such as lichess.org and openingtree.com . • Opening Explorer on Lichess vs OpeningTree.com?

  I was prepping for an opponent on Lichess' opening explorer and ran out of moves after 3-4 moves on with the preferences set to all games in the past 10 years with all time controls. But on openingtree.com, I can easily go 10+ moves deep based on my opponents game history. Why is this? Am I doing something wrong? Source: over 3 years ago

  With that said I checked my statistics on openingtree.com against hypermodern openings like the Alekhine, Owen Defense, Pirc/modern, scandinavian and I realized that I have an incredibly good score against them winning almost all of my games while against more main stream openings my score gravitates to around 50 percent.   What I noticed is that most players who play the scandi rely too much on the solid structure instead of playing dynamically. Once they played all their typical scandi moves they have no freaking clue what to do. As soon as the position gets sharp they blunder everything. openingtree.com shows that I have a close to 100% score against Openings like the Alekhine, Scandi and other openings that violate basic opening... If you have a known problem with a line, or are completely lost in a position you've gotten more than just once in a bullet game, you're silly not to analyze it, look in a database, or consult a reference course.
