I use https://flashgot.net/ (and pass it to uGet for maximum speed) which does the same I was doing with ffmpeg and digging on the page souce code (which I'm bad at). It grabs the audio track separated from the video tracks in the different resolutions available but it's pretty easy to merge them with ffmpeg. Source: about 1 year ago
I prefer to use the website, never have been much of a fan of the Overdrive app and when Libby came out I didn't use it much because my phone at the time didn't support it. And I don't feel like going back to it now. But I just tested an audiobook and was able to get the .odm file. It downloaded the audiobook files fine. I tried also via webbrowser and had no issues getting the mp3 files, though for this a browser... Source: over 1 year ago
