  2. FlashGot is a browser extension for Mozilla Firefox that is designed to make it easy to download a whole batch of files in one go. The extension is open source and free to use, but it is no longer compatible with the most recent version of Firefox.
I prefer to use the website, never have been much of a fan of the Overdrive app and when Libby came out I didn't use it much because my phone at the time didn't support it. And I don't feel like going back to it now. But I just tested an audiobook and was able to get the .odm file. It downloaded the audiobook files fine. I tried also via webbrowser and had no issues getting the mp3 files, though for this a browser extension is helpful (I use Flashgot. I also compared the files and the only difference is that the mp3 files downloaded via the "Overdrive for Windows" software had metadata tags (like author, book, narrator, year, etc) and the ones I grabbed from the web site don't. Quality-wise, they're exactly the same (same codec, same bitrate). I'll try a few different books and see if there are different audiobook players with a different DRM. (for magazines, there are at least two different readers/DRM implementations).
