Interesting contrary advice/strategy: 50/50. Are you both working on it full-time? If not, why not? How else are you both going to be so deep in, that you'll have to push through? Dovetail is a great example of this. As much as you'll hear some advice along the lines of "More of my companies have failed from 50/50 splits and no compromises than otherwise", personally I find this very avoidable. I'm a UX Researcher and I use Dovetail for analyzing interviews. Saves tons of time. The tool will transcribe the video recordings and then you can highlight the transcription. The automated transcriptions for English speakers are of really good quality, you can do the analysis from the same tool, create personas (in the tool), link findings between studies, allow video...
