Analysis

Yaps
SpatialChat

Overall verdict

  • Yaps.ai is a social attention marketplace within the crypto/Web3 space that rewards users for creating and sharing content about specific crypto projects and campaigns, converting engagement into measurable 'Yaps' points that can translate into token allocations or rewards. It's a solid option for crypto-native creators looking to monetize social influence, but its value is closely tied to the volatility and speculative nature of the crypto/token reward ecosystem, so results and legitimacy can vary based on partner projects.

Why this product is good

  • Provides a structured way to earn rewards for social media engagement around crypto and Web3 projects
  • Gamifies content creation with leaderboards and points systems, which can boost visibility for active creators
  • Connects creators directly with crypto projects seeking community-driven marketing and awareness
  • Can serve as an alternative income stream for crypto-savvy content creators and influencers
  • Growing traction within crypto Twitter/X communities as a recognized attention-tracking platform

Recommended for

  • Crypto and Web3 content creators looking to monetize social media engagement
  • Influencers already active in crypto communities on platforms like X (Twitter)
  • Individuals interested in early access to token campaigns or project-based rewards
  • Marketing teams at crypto projects seeking grassroots community engagement
  • Users comfortable navigating the speculative and evolving nature of crypto incentive programs

Overall verdict

  • Overall, SpatialChat is a solid choice for anyone looking to recreate the dynamics of in-person interactions online. Its strengths lie in its ability to mimic the atmosphere of physical spaces, thus making remote communication more engaging. However, its necessity largely depends on the nature of your events or meetings and the extent to which spatial dynamics would enhance the experience.

Why this product is good

  • SpatialChat is considered a good tool because it offers a unique, interactive environment for virtual meetings and events. The platform simulates real-life social interactions using spatial audio and customizable virtual spaces. This allows for more natural and fluid conversations, making it ideal for networking, casual meet-ups, or creative collaboration. Additionally, it is user-friendly and does not require extensive onboarding or technical skills to get started.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Yaps and SpatialChat.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Yaps's answer

B2C solution, so the user base is broad.

What makes your product unique?

Yaps's answer

It's a cross-platform dictation app that works entirely offline. The Android application is a full-blown custom keyboard that incorporates speech-to-text within a keyboard comparable to Gboard that gives it exceptional UX. While the desktop application comes with a full markdown-backed vault system, the tool also supports text-to-speech across the board.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Yaps's answer

Yaps is built for people who want voice input to feel native, private, and instant. Unlike many dictation tools, it does not force you into a separate app, floating overlay, or cloud transcription flow. On Android, it is a real keyboard with glide typing, autocorrect, suggestions, and offline dictation built in. On desktop, it works as a quiet system-level voice layer for dictation, read-aloud, notes, and local workflows.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Yaps's answer

Yaps is for knowledge workers, builders, writers, students, founders, and privacy-conscious users who think faster than they type. It especially fits people who write a lot across email, docs, chat, notes, and code, and want dictation without giving up their existing workflow.

What's the story behind your product?

Yaps's answer

Yaps started from a simple frustration: typing was too slow, existing dictation felt clumsy, and too many voice tools depended on the cloud or forced awkward UI changes. The project evolved into a “voice layer” for your devices: hold a key or tap a button, speak naturally, and have polished text appear where you already are. The guiding idea is that Yaps should feel less like a tool and more like a quiet friend that shows up when needed, helps, then gets out of the way. And that's the same rationale behind being able to read out any text on your screen or jotting down quick notes, and the creation of a second brain behind the scenes.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Yaps's answer

  • Desktop app: Tauri 2, Rust, React 19, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Bun
  • Android app: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android IME APIs
  • Shared core: Rust with UniFFI bindings
  • Models: The speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and cleanup are powered by fine-tuned local models.
  • Backend: Cloudflare Workers, Hono, D1, KV, Stripe, Google Play Billing, JWT auth
  • Storage: Local settings plus a file-backed Markdown vault with note history and automation surfaces
