After some detective work with traceroute and interviewing them about what sites they were having issues with, I determined that the actual issue was with the web.whatsapp.com service having downtime. I believe web.whatsapp.com is being blocked by local telecom companies in order to protect their duopoly and keep Oman in tech--stone-age. If fewer people know how else the rest of the world uses the internet, then they don't have to make an effort to improve their offerings. Omantel is definitely blocking this web.whatsapp.com. I am moving from an ultra tab c to an air 3 c and strangely enough one of my apps (sync.com cloud storage) can be installed in the ultra tab c but it says its not compatible with the air 3 c device, even android is newer.. why? Am I missing something to fix/do? Source: almost 3 years ago

Sync.com might be unlimited right now but I highly doubt they will keep this up in the long run. And having to reupload after a few months sucks, especially with a slow connection. Every other service so far canceled this tier, or has some major asteriscs. Storage is pretty expensive, even if you operate at a huge scale so this is simply not a viable business model.
