Visual Studio Code, a code editor created by Microsoft, was first introduced on April 29, 2015, at the Build conference. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
The step up from there is an editor with a built-in agent like Cursor, Google Antigravity, Windsurf, or VS Code with a coding extension. These are code editors with an AI agent living inside them, and the difference is the responsible party for getting things from place to place. Instead of the software creator shuttling code between windows, the AI agent edits the project files directly and runs the GitHub and... - Source: dev.to / about 2 months ago
For IDE-heavy teams, BYOK (bring your own key) can be interesting, no matter whether you live in WebStorm or VS Code. On the JetBrains side, the JetBrains AI plans and Junie BYOK docs allow it, and most VS Code AI extensions offer the same idea: keep the IDE, connect provider keys, pay the provider. - Source: dev.to / 2 months ago
Option 1: Raw editing in IDE. You open the .md file in VS Code or whatever you use. Syntax highlighting shows you the structure. Maybe you toggle a preview pane. This works for quick edits but becomes painful for anything involving tables, diagrams, or complex formatting. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
You'll need Python 3.8+ and pip for the quickstart, with venv recommended for isolation. Install the requests library for HTTP calls. VS Code with the Python extension works well as an editor, though PyCharm or Sublime Text work equally well. You'll also need a free Foxit developer account. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
AI-likeness is the target, and it's the one judge that has to live in code, because it isn't an LLM. You score the reply with GPTZero, an AI detector. The score is 1 - P(human): near 0 when GPTZero reads the reply as human, which is your goal, and near 1 for AI or mixed text. Lower is better, so the bootstrap marks the judge inverted and the optimizer drives the score down. - Source: dev.to / 14 days ago
Obvious AI tells abound in the text and in the GitHub repo, which is clearly 100% vibe coded. If you cannot see this, then I don't know what to tell you. Actually, I do. For the text of the paper, paste any section after the "Introduction" section into https://gptzero.me/. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
GPTZero - Commercial AI detection service with free tier. - Source: dev.to / 8 months ago
Was curious, so I tried it in several different AI detectors to see what they returned. Most seemed to believe it was approximately 2/3 AI generated text. Primarily the first several paragraphs. Last, and second to last scored the best as "human". ZeroGPT said it was only 5% likely AI written. Couple sentences. Not sure if that means its actually AI written, cause there's lots of argument about false... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
For the benefit of external observers, you can stick the comment into either https://gptzero.me/ or https://copyleaks.com/ai-content-detector - neither are perfectly reliable, but the comment stuck out to me as obviously LLM-generated (I see a lot of LLM-generated content in my day job), and false positives from these services are actually kinda rare (false negatives much more common). But if you want to get a... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
