Tabla is the no-code database for building the systems your business runs on - bookings, clients, jobs, inventory, invoices, and everything else you've been forcing into a spreadsheet.
We built it after years of building these systems for ourselves and for other people, on the tools that came before it. Dozens of systems, one lesson: the tool always gave out before the business did. Too slow, too expensive, or too fragile the moment you changed something. Tabla is what we wanted the whole time.
You organize work in tables, fields, and records, and see the same records as a grid, calendar, gallery, or kanban board. Formulas, lookups, rollups, linked records, color on any field. Open it, type, done.
Underneath, every grid is a real Postgres table, so sorting, filtering, and searching stay fast as your data grows โ with room for a million records. Rename a field and nothing breaks: filters, views, and integrations point at the field itself, not its name.
When a record changes, Tabla can kick off your automations in the tools you already use โ Make, Zapier, and the rest โ reliably, with a log of every delivery. For the technical: signed webhooks with replay, and a documented REST API that uses the same filter syntax as the grid.
Your data stays yours. One click exports the entire database โ every table as CSV, every record, every attachment โ free on every plan. Moving from Airtable? One click imports it: tables, fields, records, and attachments in a single run. CSV import works too.
Pricing is per editor, in brackets that stop counting at 25. Viewers are free at any number. During open beta everything is free, and your rate locks when standard pricing begins.

Every feature is here from the first minute, because there is no bigger plan. Formulas, lookups, rollups, two-way links, every view, webhooks with delivery logs and replay, conditional record colors, the full REST API, and the whole-database export โ none of it waits behind a tier.
Nothing bills by usage. Not webhook fires, not API calls beyond a published rate limit of 600 a minute, not how many records you keep. Viewers are free at any number; only editors are billed, and counting stops at 25. A team of five pays $288 a year.
Opening a 50,000-row table takes 0.35 seconds. We timed it against the live sites of two competitors in July 2026 and published the method.
One action pulls the whole database into a single file โ every table as CSV, every record, every attachment, with a manifest. It works on the free plan, which is to say it works on the day you leave.

We spent years building these systems for ourselves and for other people, on the tools that came before this one. Bookings for a guesthouse. Inventory. Client work. Dozens of them.
Same ending every time. It worked. Then it got slow, or the bill grew because we'd kept more data, or something broke the afternoon someone renamed a column.
So we built the thing we actually wanted.

Next.js and TypeScript on the front, PostgreSQL 16 underneath. Every grid is a real Postgres table with real indexes โ not rows in a generic key-value store, which is why sorting and filtering stay quick as the table fills up. Records run on Hetzner in Nuremberg; attachments on Cloudflare R2.

Four views. Every field type, including the ones that only matter on the day you need them. Formulas, rollups, two-way links. Group-by, footer summaries, row and cell coloring. One filter grammar โ the same in the grid, the API and your webhooks, and written down. Public read-only links. Undo, and a trash that holds everything for seven days. Webhooks with a delivery log you can replay. And the whole database back out in one file.
Based on our record, Rows seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 24 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Alternatives were Rows and Airtable. Rows tends to be better at calculation, while Airtable tends to be better at storing and sorting data as a database. I was not aware of the open-source alternative called Baserow at the time. [Baserow], [APITable], [Grist], and [Rowy] are all open source Airtable alternatives which offer hosted SaaS versions that include API access, though it's a bit difficult to compare the API rate limits across all these products. Self-hosting an app like this would allow you to bypass API rate limits altogether, if you're open to it.
