Using this specifically for school. It has all the features of microsoft to-do and google tasks. After using Notion, I became accustomed to viewing tasks in a certain date range and being able to tag assignments, which neither of the aforementioned apps could do the same way. This keeps track of all tasks, their due date, type tags, and folders separated by class. Simple and fast windows app, android app, and android widgets.

Been using this setup for many years and never had any problem at all. I sync between desktop and mobile with Syncthing[0]. And also you can configure Syncthing to do file versioning, and it has many options (Trash Can, Simple, Staggered or External file versioning) so if some weird conflict happens you'll never lose data. First, go to the list on the ticktick.com website. That'll give you a url like this: "https://ticktick.com/webapp/#p/123456789123456789/tasks. (The string of numbers will change depending on the particular list). The URL to jump to this list in the TickTick app is then "ticktick:///webapp/#p/123456789123456789/tasks".
