Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

RiskDesks 5 features
Selfcommit.dev 0 features
  • Prop Firm Focus
RiskDesks appears to be tailored specifically for proprietary trading firm risk management and evaluation processes, which can make it more relevant and useful for traders operating under funded trading programs compared to generic trading tools.
  • Risk Management Tools
The platform likely provides specialized tools for tracking and managing trading risk parameters such as drawdown limits, daily loss limits, and profit targets that are common requirements in prop trading challenges.
  • Simplified Compliance Tracking
Users may benefit from having a centralized dashboard to monitor whether they are staying within the risk rules set by their prop trading firm, reducing the chance of accidental rule violations.
  • Niche Market Solution
By targeting a specific niche (prop firm traders), the platform can offer more focused features rather than generic trading analytics that don't address prop-firm-specific challenges.
  • Potential Time Savings
Automating the tracking of risk metrics could save traders time compared to manually calculating and monitoring their compliance with prop firm rules.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Brand Recognition
As a relatively niche or newer platform, RiskDesks may not have the established reputation, user base, or third-party reviews that more well-known trading analytics platforms have, making it harder to verify its reliability.
  • Uncertain Integration Support
It's unclear how well RiskDesks integrates with various trading platforms and brokers, which could limit its usefulness if it doesn't support the specific tools traders already use.
  • Potential Cost Concerns
Depending on the pricing model, the cost of using a specialized tool like RiskDesks might not be justified for traders who only need basic risk tracking or who are just starting with prop trading.
  • Narrow Use Case
Since the platform seems focused specifically on prop firm risk management, it may offer limited value for traders who don't participate in funded trading challenges or who trade independently.
  • Limited Public Information
There is limited publicly available information about the platform's features, user reviews, and overall effectiveness, making it difficult for potential users to fully evaluate its value before committing to it.

Analysis

An editorial look at what each product does well and who it suits.

RiskDesks
Selfcommit.dev

Overall verdict

  • RiskDesks appears to be a niche prop-trading/funded-trader evaluation service; without independent, verifiable track records or regulatory oversight typical of such platforms, it should be approached with caution and thorough due diligence before committing funds.

Why this product is good

  • Offers funded trading account programs allowing traders to trade with firm capital after passing an evaluation
  • May provide flexible rules or account sizes compared to some competitors
  • Could offer profit split arrangements attractive to retail traders
  • Marketed toward traders seeking to scale without risking large personal capital

Recommended for

  • Retail traders looking to try funded trading programs with limited personal capital risk
  • Experienced traders confident in passing evaluation-style challenges
  • Individuals who have researched the company's payout history and user reviews thoroughly
  • Traders comfortable with the inherent risks of proprietary trading firms that are not always heavily regulated

Overall verdict

  • Selfcommit.dev appears to be a niche accountability/goal-tracking tool aimed at helping individuals commit to personal or professional goals, but there is limited widespread public information, reviews, or track record available to fully verify its quality, reliability, or long-term support.

Why this product is good

  • Focuses on personal accountability through structured commitment tracking, which can be motivating for self-improvement
  • Likely has a simple, developer-friendly interface given the '.dev' domain branding
  • May offer a lightweight, distraction-free alternative to bloated habit-tracking apps
  • Could be a good fit for solo builders or indie hackers who prefer minimalist tools

Recommended for

  • Individuals looking for a simple self-accountability or commitment-tracking tool
  • Developers or indie hackers who prefer niche, no-frills apps over mainstream productivity suites
  • Users comfortable trying newer, less established platforms
  • People who want lightweight goal or habit tracking without complex features

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing RiskDesks and Selfcommit.dev.

What makes your product unique?

RiskDesks's answer

RiskDesks keeps every calculator completely free and free of friction — no signup, no email gate, no paywall. Most crypto calculators online lock features behind registration or bury them in ads. Here you just open the page and use it. It also goes beyond basic calculators with an interactive Monte Carlo risk simulator, and it's fully multilingual.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

RiskDesks's answer

Because it's genuinely free and instant. There's nothing to sign up for and no data to hand over — you enter your numbers and get the result. It focuses specifically on the risk-management math traders actually need (position sizing, liquidation prices, risk per trade), rather than being a general market-data portal.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

RiskDesks's answer

Retail crypto traders — especially beginners and intermediate traders who want to size positions and manage risk properly. It's for people who trade their own money and want quick, no-nonsense calculations without paying for tools or creating accounts.

What's the story behind your product?

RiskDesks's answer

I kept running into crypto calculators that were either gated behind email signups, hidden behind paywalls, or buried in ads. I wanted one clean, free place to do the everyday trading math — position sizing, liquidation, risk per trade. So I built it as a fast static site that's cheap to run and can stay free.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

RiskDesks's answer

Static site built with plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The calculators and the Monte Carlo simulator run entirely client-side in the browser, so there's no backend.
