Since it's cloud-based, an active internet connection is mandatory for coding, which can be a drawback in situations with unreliable internet access.
  • Privacy Concerns
Hosting code on a third-party platform may raise privacy and security issues, especially for proprietary or sensitive projects.
  • Subscription Costs
While Replit offers a free tier, advanced features, higher resource limits, and premium support come at a subscription cost, which may be a barrier for some users.
  • Limited Debugging Tools
The platform's debugging tools may not be as robust as those available in more established, dedicated IDEs.

Possible disadvantages of Rouvy

  • Cost
Rouvy requires a subscription, which may be perceived as expensive by some users compared to other available platforms.
  • Graphics Quality
While Rouvy provides video-based routes, the visual quality and resolution can sometimes be lower compared to fully rendered 3D virtual cycling platforms.
  • Limited Customization
The platform may have limited options for customizing avatars or virtual cycling gear compared to some other cycling apps.
  • Initial Setup
The setup process can be time-consuming and may require technical expertise to connect all devices and ensure the app functions optimally.
  • Internet Dependency
Rouvy requires a stable internet connection for the streaming and functionality of its features, which can be a limitation in areas with poor connectivity.

  • Why AI Websites All Look the Same and How to Build Something Different
This is one of the strangest side effects of AI-assisted development becoming mainstream. Tools such as Lovable, v0, Bolt, Base44, Google AI Studio, Replit, and Claude can take a plain-language description and turn it into a working interface in minutes. But somewhere between typing your "build me a portfolio website" prompt and watching the interface come to life, a huge number of us end up with something that... - Source: dev.to / 10 days ago

  • Show HN: One provider starts lying at request 50. The quorum catches it
Two regions. Six hubs. Six providers. One of them starts lying after request 50. The quorum catches it. Authority never moves. NUVL fronts compute bindings and forward only. Hubs relay and fan out — no authority, no policy. Providers are the only execution authorities. When Provider_B starts flipping reported outcomes, the 2-of-3 quorum audit detects the drift without promoting hubs into decision-makers. The drift... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago

  • New-to-me Zwift competitor
I just saw a Reddit ad for the first time mentioning https://rouvy.com/ (indoor cycling software). Source: over 3 years ago
  • What Improvements would you like to see to Rouvy?
I am not sure about your fourth question, rouvy.com has a huge amount of links with different type or rides "Top Routes Categories" also if you "Search for a ride" a search editor comes with many options including a check out field only for AR. Yes takes some time to get used to but it is a very complete and mainly graphically oriented editor. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Two parallel Rouvies.
Another problem I found in rouvy.com is that if you look "Top Route Categories" they are there, except a very important one "Favorites". For Favorites I have to go to my-rouvy.com and select "Virtual Routes". Source: over 3 years ago
  • Two parallel Rouvies.
There appear to be two variants: If I go into my account via rouvy.com I have my original profile picture (which I can't change) and in the Continental Climbs challenge the current holder of first place on the leaderboard appears only to have completed 4/6 rides (so he wouldn't be there several days into the challenge when others have completed all 6 rides). Check this out: https://rouvy.com/ I think it would be up your alley :-). Source: almost 4 years ago
