Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Protocol Deviation and BlankSpaceCopy.net.

What makes your product unique?

BlankSpaceCopy.net's answer:

Blank Space Copy stands out because it is a focused, no-nonsense utility for a surprisingly common problem: generating invisible characters that actually work on each platform. Unlike general text tools, it includes platform-specific guides (Discord blank names, Instagram bios, WhatsApp blank messages) and covers the exact Unicode codepoints that survive each platform's trimming and validation rules (U+3164 Hangul filler, U+2800 Braille blank, U+200B zero-width space). It also ships an invisible character detector and cleaner, works 100% in the browser with no signup and no data upload, and is completely free.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BlankSpaceCopy.net's answer:

Compared to competitors, Blank Space Copy combines three things most similar tools only offer separately: (1) a clean one-click copy experience for all common invisible characters, (2) platform-specific guidance so the character you copy actually renders as blank on Discord, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram and game usernames, and (3) a detector/cleaner to strip invisible characters out of pasted text when you need plain text back. It is free with no accounts, no ads, no data uploads, and it loads instantly without any client-side JavaScript bloat. For most people this is simply the fastest way to get a working blank name or empty bio.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BlankSpaceCopy.net's answer:

  • Next.js 16 (App Router) with React 19 and TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS for styling and Framer Motion for subtle animations
  • Client-side only: all character generation, detection and cleaning logic runs in the browser
  • Unicode handling via native JavaScript string/Intl APIs (U+3164, U+2800, U+200B and related codepoints)
  • Deployed on Vercel with Cloudflare DNS
  • No backend, no database, no user accounts - privacy by architecture

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BlankSpaceCopy.net's answer:

The primary audience is everyday users of social platforms and online games who want a blank or invisible name, bio, or message: Discord users making blank usernames, Instagram/TikTok users styling empty bios, WhatsApp/Telegram users sending blank messages, and gamers crafting invisible usernames in titles like Fortnite, PUBG, and Roblox. The secondary audience is developers and content creators who need to understand or clean invisible Unicode characters (for example, detecting zero-width characters in pasted text, or explaining why a copied blank string renders differently across platforms).

What's the story behind your product?

BlankSpaceCopy.net's answer:

Blank Space Copy started as a small internal tool after I kept hitting the same annoyance: every time I wanted a blank Discord username or an empty Instagram bio, I had to dig through forum threads to find the right invisible character, only to paste it and discover the platform trimmed it or rejected it. Most existing tools were either cluttered with ads, required signup, or only offered characters that didn't survive a platform's validation. So I built a focused, fast, privacy-friendly utility that combines copyable invisible characters with platform-specific notes on what actually works, plus a detector/cleaner for the reverse problem. It launched in late 2025 and has been free ever since - no accounts, no tracking, no uploads.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

BlankSpaceCopy.net's answer:

  • Discord community members using blank usernames
  • Instagram and TikTok creators styling empty bios
  • WhatsApp and Telegram users sending blank messages
  • Gamers setting invisible names in Fortnite, PUBG, Roblox and similar titles
  • Web developers and QA testers detecting/cleaning invisible Unicode characters in user input
  • Social media managers standardizing profile presentation across accounts
