Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Project Euler and ReadyTech.

What's the story behind your product?

ReadyTech's answer:

Built for Instructors by Instructors It was 2002 when we started thinking about what, if anything, could be done remotely. At first, we concentrated on the most problematic part, which was the virtual lab environment. In these early days, virtualization wasn’t ready for prime time, so we focused on building a hardware-based lab solution. It was during that time that our mantra, “worldwide performance and stability,” was established. We knew if we could achieve that, our solution would work.

In 2003, we launched, and it was an immediate success with customers. As virtualization technologies matured and cloud services started to develop (AWS launched in 2006), we added cloud hosting to our solution. More importantly, we began to think beyond the lab and are now building various tools to help instructors deliver excellent training and keep students engaged. We are no longer in that small loft. We are headquartered in Uptown Oakland, with international offices in the Netherlands and data centers in California, Singapore, and Amsterdam. While we have been tempted into other markets, we have decided to stay firmly focused on where our passion is: the training business.
