This was the tool I developed for my own projects. Then I decided to go open source and joined GitHub

Walwarden was built around a simple gap: a backup dashboard can show that backups exist, but it usually cannot provide a clean, durable answer to "prove that you restored this database successfully."

Walwarden turns backup and restore work into a signed evidence trail that an auditor, security reviewer, or customer can inspect later—without relying on screenshots, memory, or provider-specific recovery tooling.

Choose Walwarden when native provider backups or a scheduled pg_dump are not enough. Walwarden gives you portable backup copies in storage you control, plus a signed and dated record of what was backed up, restored, and verified.

The goal is not merely to show that a backup ran—it is to make recoverability independently inspectable during a SOC 2 or security review.
