Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Pomodoronline and GitHub.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Pomodoronline's answer

Choose Pomodoronline if you want more than a simple timer. It turns Pomodoro sessions into clear, task-level visibility: what you worked on, how long you stayed focused, and which tasks consistently get attention. If your problem is “I do sessions but I still cannot tell where my time goes,” Pomodoronline is built specifically for that gap.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Pomodoronline's answer

People who already like Pomodoro, but need accountability and clarity by task: students, freelancers, makers, and knowledge workers (coding, writing, studying, content, research). It is especially useful for anyone who wants lightweight time tracking without the overhead of traditional timesheets.

What's the story behind your product?

Pomodoronline's answer

Most Pomodoro apps help you start sessions, but they do not help you understand your work afterward. Pomodoronline started from that frustration: lots of sessions, little insight. The product was built to make “task-based time visibility” effortless, so your own data tells you what is actually getting done.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Pomodoronline's answer

Pomodoronline is built with a modern web stack, including Next.js (React), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Prisma, and SQLite, with performance-focused deployment and CDN support.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Pomodoronline's answer

No enterprise customers publicly disclosed yet (self-serve product) Students and exam preppers Freelancers and solo founders Developers, writers, and other knowledge workers

What makes your product unique?

Pomodoronline's answer

Pomodoronline is task-first. Instead of running generic focus sessions, every session is logged against a specific task so you can answer a practical question: “Where did my work time actually go?” It also separates focus time (excluding breaks) from total time (including breaks), so your reports reflect real work, not just timer usage.
