As answered by people managing PDFShift and MIDAS.
MIDAS's answer:
MIDAS is the only mature, purpose-built room and resource scheduling system offering the customer's choice of cloud or self-hosted deployment, with fixed transparent pricing and a 20-year track record. Our median active customer retention is over 9 years!
MIDAS's answer:
Booking systems come and go, and migrating between them is painful. MIDAS has been continuously developed and supported by its original developer since 2006 - celebrating 20 years in 2026 - and our median customer has been with us for over 9 years. Choose software you won't need to replace.
MIDAS pricing is published openly in five currencies and based on just two things: how many venues and how many users you need. No per-booking fees, no usage tiers, no quote requests - the price you see is the price you pay, and renewals are charged at the same standard published rates.
MIDAS's answer:
MIDAS was originally developed for a large performing arts college in the UK back in 2005. Realizing its potential to help other organizations manage their room and resources bookings, it was first commercially released in early 2006. In the twenty years since, MIDAS remains in active development, with several feature-rich updates released every year and trusted by a worldwide customer base. MIDAS's answer:
MIDAS is written in Perl - a language commonly found on almost all web servers, and which can be readily installed on those without. The backend database supports both MySQL and MariaDB, and the front end is a mix of HTML, CSS and Javascript
