Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Outilio and Shutter Encoder.

What makes your product unique?

Outilio's answer

What makes Outilio unique? Outilio is largely defined by its "Local-First" architecture. Unlike 99% of online tools that force you to upload your files to a remote server for processing, Outilio processes everything directly in your browser using advanced WebAssembly technologies. This means your sensitive documents, videos, and images never leave your device, ensuring absolute privacy and zero upload/download wait times.

Why should a person choose Outilio over its competitors?

Absolute Privacy: Competitors like iLovePDF or SmallPDF require file uploads. Outilio offers the same power without the privacy risk. Speed: Since there are no uploads or downloads, processing is instant, limited only by your device's speed. No Limits: Most competitors put up paywalls after a few uses. Outilio is free and unrestricted. Versatility: It replaces a dozen separate bookmarks (PDF tools, video converters, code utilities) with one single "Digital Swiss Army Knife."

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

What's the story behind your product?

Outilio's answer

Outilio was born from a frustration with the modern web's "freemium" trap and data privacy concerns. We realized that simple tasks like merging a PDF or trimming a video shouldn't require surrendering your data to an unknown server or paying a monthly subscription. We set out to build a platform that gives the power back to the user's browser, creating a tool that is as safe as it is powerful—a "Swiss Army Knife" that respects the user.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Outilio's answer

As a privacy-focused platform that does not track users or require accounts, our "customers" are the thousands of anonymous individuals using the tools daily. However, our user base consists of: -Independent Freelancers & Designers -Small Business Owners -Software Developers (using our DevTools) -Students & Researchers -Privacy Advocates across the globe

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?
