Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing OpenPhone and Twilanswer.

What makes your product unique?

Twilanswer's answer:

Twilanswer is one of the only calling platforms that lets you bring your own Twilio account instead of locking you into a closed system. You keep ownership of your number, your call data, and your Twilio billing — Twilanswer just sits on top as the calling layer.

It's plug and play: connect your existing Twilio account and you have inbound routing, time-based call routing, voicemail with transcription, call recording, and outbound calling running in minutes. No developer, no TwiML scripting, no migration.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Twilanswer's answer:

Most business phone platforms (RingCentral, Grasshopper, OpenPhone, and similar tools) want you to migrate your number and your data into their closed system. Twilanswer works differently — it connects directly to your own Twilio account, so you're never locked into a vendor's infrastructure. If you ever want to move on, your number and call history are yours, not trapped behind someone else's platform.

For teams that already use Twilio for SMS, this also means no duplicate setup. You're not running two disconnected systems — Twilanswer extends the Twilio account you already have into a full calling solution, with integrations into Front, Slack, Zapier, Make, and custom webhooks built in.
