I've never been enticed by a landing page (yes, datapoint of one). It's either recommendation from source I trust (which has included reddit) and some demo/review available somewhere. There there use to be a stronger distinction between Text Editors and IDEโs. Of course there is a wide spectrum from something like โnanoโ to Microsoftโs Visual Studio (not VScode) On macOS, BBEdit has had SFTP since the late 1990s. Yeah I tried a few, also the defaults in NextDNS and AdGuard Home. They all cause issues, mostly related to what's considered tracking/analytics domains, e.g. segment.io, app-measurement.com, fullstory.com, crashlytics, etc. Source: almost 4 years ago
