Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

notspoofed.com 6 features
CommitCat 5 features
  • SPF lookups counted properly
SPF permits ten DNS lookups. Past that, receivers stop evaluating and the record fails silently - no bounce, no warning. notspoofed walks the full include chain, follows redirect=, and shows the real count.
  • A corrected SPF record to publish
When a domain is over the limit, it generates a replacement record and flattens only the includes it has to, so the fix stays maintainable rather than pinning every provider IP.
  • DKIM keys verified, not invented
Selectors cannot be enumerated from DNS, so every checker guesses - and domains with wildcard DNS answer every query, making careless tools report keys that do not exist. Each hit is checked to be a real signing key.
  • DMARC reports traced to where they go
Checks subdomain policy inheritance and whether third-party rua= addresses are authorised to receive your data - the failure most tools miss, where the record looks flawless and the reports go nowhere.
  • In-browser email header analyzer
Paste raw headers to see the delivery path and why DMARC passed or failed, including the common case where SPF passes but for a different domain than the visible From. Parsed locally, never uploaded.
  • No signup, nothing recorded
No account, no email wall, no rate limit. The domains you check are never stored. Open source under the MIT licence.
  • Simplified Git Interface
CommitCat aims to provide a user-friendly graphical interface for Git, making version control more accessible to developers who may find the command line intimidating or cumbersome.
  • Free and Open Source
CommitCat is offered as a free tool, lowering the barrier to entry for individuals and small teams who need a Git client without the cost associated with some commercial alternatives.
  • Cross-Platform Support
CommitCat is designed to work across multiple operating systems, allowing developers on different platforms to use the same familiar tool for their version control needs.
  • Beginner-Friendly
The tool is positioned to help newcomers to Git and version control by providing a more visual and intuitive way to manage repositories, commits, and branches without needing deep command-line expertise.
  • Lightweight Application
CommitCat is designed to be a lightweight Git client that doesn't consume excessive system resources, making it suitable for developers who prefer a lean, fast tool over feature-heavy alternatives.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Feature Set
Compared to more established Git clients like GitKraken, Sourcetree, or Fork, CommitCat may lack advanced features such as built-in merge conflict resolution tools, advanced branch visualization, or deep integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Small Community and Ecosystem
As a lesser-known tool, CommitCat has a smaller user community, which means fewer tutorials, community-driven plugins, and peer support compared to mainstream Git clients.
  • Limited Visibility and Traction
CommitCat appears to have limited online presence and user reviews, making it difficult for potential users to assess its reliability, maturity, and long-term viability before adopting it.
  • Uncertain Development Activity
It is unclear how actively CommitCat is being maintained and developed. A tool with infrequent updates may fall behind in compatibility with newer Git features or operating system updates.
  • Lack of Enterprise Features
CommitCat may not offer enterprise-grade features such as team collaboration tools, access control integrations, or support for large-scale repository management that organizations often require.

  • Unclear long-term support or update frequency given its low profile

Recommended for

  • Developers or teams willing to experiment with lesser-known or early-stage tools
  • Startups or indie hackers looking for niche commit-related utilities
  • Users who prioritize trying new tools over established, well-reviewed alternatives
  • Not recommended for enterprises or teams needing proven, well-supported solutions with strong community backing
