Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Newswire and BatchSet.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

BatchSet's answer:

  • Next.js 14 (App Router, TypeScript) — frontend + server
  • Supabase — authentication, database, RLS-based security
  • Paddle — payment processing and merchant of record
  • Vercel — hosting and edge deployment
  • AWS S3 — temporary file storage during processing
  • Sharp — high-performance image processing library
  • Resend — transactional email
  • shadcn/ui + Tailwind CSS — design system
  • Lucide Icons — icon library

What makes your product unique?

BatchSet's answer:

BatchSet is one of the few image SaaS platforms that genuinely consolidates 8 different tools into one dashboard — instead of being a single-purpose product.

Most competitors do one thing well: - TinyPNG = compression only - CloudConvert = format conversion only - Bitly = URL shortening only - Canva = social media resizing only

BatchSet covers all of them: image conversion (JPG/PNG/WebP/AVIF), bulk processing, Excel-based batch jobs, QR codes (static and dynamic with scan analytics), URL shortener with click tracking, barcode generator, social media resizer with 28 presets, and a watermark tool.

The other key differentiator is predictable pricing. While CloudConvert charges by variable "conversion minutes" that depend on file size and type, BatchSet uses a simple 1-credit-per-action model regardless of file complexity.

A 30 credits/month free tier — that doesn't expire — rounds it out. No credit card required to start.

What's the story behind your product?

BatchSet's answer:

BatchSet started from personal frustration.

I (Muhaymin) run a small Shopify store on the side. I was subscribed to TinyPNG for compression, Bitly for short links, a separate QR code service, and Canva for social media resizing — four separate subscriptions, four logins, four interfaces — all to do four things that were really one workflow: "prepare images and links for an e-commerce listing."

It felt absurd. I started building BatchSet in late 2025 to collapse all of that into one dashboard. Originally launched as ImageFlow on a Vercel subdomain to test the idea, then rebranded to BatchSet in May 2026 alongside the official launch on the batchset.com domain.

The product is built solo — no team, no investors yet. Just direct user feedback shaping the roadmap.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

BatchSet's answer:

BatchSet is built for three audiences:

E-commerce sellers (Shopify, WooCommerce, Daraz, Etsy) who need to bulk-process product images to WebP for Core Web Vitals, generate QR codes for packaging, and resize images for product listings across multiple platforms.

Marketing teams and agencies who need social media image presets, URL shorteners for campaign tracking, dynamic QR codes for print campaigns, and bulk image processing — all without subscribing to 4–6 separate tools.

SEO specialists who use BatchSet to convert site image assets to WebP/AVIF for faster page loads, better LCP scores, and improved Core Web Vitals rankings.

Common across all three: people who value time efficiency, predictable pricing, and not having to switch between dashboards.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

BatchSet's answer:

Three honest reasons:

1. Replace 4–6 subscriptions with one. A typical e-commerce or marketing workflow uses TinyPNG ($25/yr) + Bitly ($8–35/mo) + a QR code tool ($5–15/mo) + Canva ($15/mo) + CloudConvert (variable). That's $40–90/month across 4–5 separate dashboards. BatchSet's Pro plan is $19.99/month and covers all of it.

2. No-code bulk processing. BatchSet's Excel Converter lets you paste a column of image URLs from a spreadsheet and receive a ZIP of converted files. No API setup, no developer required. CloudConvert and TinyPNG require API integrations for bulk work.

3. Free tier that doesn't expire. CloudConvert gives you 25 trial conversion minutes — then you pay forever. BatchSet gives 30 credits every single month, free, with no credit card. For occasional users that covers most needs at zero cost.

When NOT to choose BatchSet: if you need video/audio/document conversion (use CloudConvert), or if you only ever need PNG compression and nothing else (TinyPNG is fine).

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

BatchSet's answer:

BatchSet officially launched in May 2026. We're in early days — currently onboarding e-commerce sellers and marketing teams.
