The Independent Film Distribution Landscape in 2026: A Complete Framework
MUBI, Criterion Channel, and Fandor represent the niche SVOD tier most accessible to independent films with strong critical credentials. Revenue per stream is lower than major platforms ($0.05โ€“$0.30 depending on deal structure), but acquisition criteria are achievable for films with festival records and critical praise.

7 best Netflix alternatives: What to stream next
That list is just for right now, though. As the Mubi roster is always removing titles as it's gaining titles. In its Now Showing section, you'll get a list of the movies that are soon on their way out, but they're ranked in the order of what's disappearing in a month all the way down to what's leaving in the next few days.
9 Awesome MoviePass Alternatives, From Paid Subscriptions to Free Ones
The Cons: Well, thereโ€™s the whole ticking-clock thing. If youโ€™re someone with a busy schedule who prefers to add movies to your queue to watch at a later date, this isnโ€™t a great option. And compared to FilmStruck, itโ€™s also a bit pricy for the limited number of movies you have access to at a given time. There was also some backlash this week when a crop of recent ads...

  • What do you feel you are losing interest in as you grow older?
This is not an ad: I've seen a few YouTube creators who are into film (Broey Deschanel is an example) who are sponsored by a platform called Mubi: https://mubi.com/. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Netflix Loses 1M Users in Spain over Password Policing
Mubi (https://mubi.com/) is nice. You donโ€™t get a huge catalogue but they cycle it very regularly with varying thematic focus and showcase a mix of old movies and new art releases. It feels a bit like a cinema club. I recommend. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
  • Netflix rolls out new fees for password sharing in Canada
I recommend Mubi. Just quality stuff, opposite of Netflix. https://mubi.com/. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Signed up for a month of Mubi, any great films I'm missing from my watchlist?
Well you can go to mubi.com and sign up directly with them. I did this with BFI and tried to do it with Shudder but for BFI their web player wasn't as good as Prime and with Shudder I literally couldn't get the website to accept any of my cards. So now, if there is an Amazon Channel available for a service, I tend to go via that for ease. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Mundane Films
Not a specific movie, but if you go onto mubi.com and browse there seems to be a lot of movies like this up your alley. I'm not crazy about mundane films but there seems to be a lot of simple life indie movies there. Source: almost 4 years ago
