In the twenty years since, MIDAS remains in active development, with several feature-rich updates released every year and trusted by a worldwide customer base. MIDAS is written in Perl - a language commonly found on almost all web servers, and which can be readily installed on those without. The backend database supports both MySQL and MariaDB, and the front end is a mix of HTML, CSS and Javascript

As "berrybrew" is specific to Strawberry perl, and we still technically support (but don't recommend ActivePerl), we tend to spin up VMs when we need to test our MIDAS software different versions of Strawberry/ActivePerl. Source: about 5 years ago
