I've been doing a lot of experimenting with this with a c++ compiler project[0]. I definitely experienced a lot of challenges, but I do believe it is possible to end-up in a consistent space by putting in some very careful guardrails. I covered some of the things I learned in the follow on blog posts. My more recent runs have been producing better code after continuing to improve harnesses, tests, and prompts. >Viewing the continuance of our race as only the responsibility of parents is pathological. That seems to be a uniquely American pathology. Everywhere where else in the world, and in non-white American subcultures, the community is expected a hand in raising children. But many Americans consider it socialist and an attack on Christian values. See Hillary Clinton getting mocked for saying "it takes a village"[0] or... - Source: Hacker News / 6 days ago
I think the downvotes are for saying positive things about AI. HN doesn't like that ;) And yes, messing about with skills is the new messing around with setup. It's a rabbit hole. I'm a massive, massive, believer in The Cult of Done [0] especially "the point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done". Allowing myself to finish something badly so that I can move on to the next thing was a... - Source: Hacker News / 6 days ago

'If we all woke up tomorrow and thought 'we need 10 million new homes'' The cost of 1 Million homes where people want to live (where your community is), would be roughly 0.5 Trillion to 1 Trillion USD [1]. So, I don't think this is true :(. Again, I want this to be true. But it is not today. For those that don't want to manage backups, sync and versioning, UpNote[1] a has scheduled offline backup and restore in Markdown format. Supports Android stylus/Apple Pencil drawing as bonus. Joplin comes second but is difficult to setup, lacks versioning, trash bin, auto-backup, and slow react native mobile app that doesn't sync in the background. Obsidian Sync is close but expensive and the app doesn't offer... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
I'd check out Upnote - https://getupnote.com/. Source: over 2 years ago
UpNote was my winner. Easiest, most flexible formatting (the only app with keyboard shortcuts for text colors and highlight colors), among many other features. More intuitive than most of the recommendations you'll see here. Actually has a formatting toolbar, unlike many of the recommendations you'll see here. Source: over 2 years ago
