Managers forget the quiet quarter, not the loud week. Feedback, commitments, wins, and concerns about the people you lead happen in passing โ€” in a 1:1, an email, a WhatsApp message, or a chat with ChatGPT or Claude โ€” and by review season they've faded into a vague impression. Notivo is a private, per-person notebook built to fix that.

Capture: write a note the moment something happens, tagged with @person and #topic. Notes can be saved from the web app, iOS, WhatsApp, email, or straight out of a ChatGPT or Claude conversation, so context doesn't stay trapped wherever it was first written down.

Understand & Connect: every note files automatically into that person's own timeline. Open one team member and see everything noted about them in one place, instead of piecing it together from memory or several different tools. On the Pro plan, an AI assistant reads a manager's own notes and drafts a week's or month's recap by person โ€” talking points for the next 1:1, or a first draft for a review โ€” built only from what was actually written, never invented.

Guide: Notivo is private by default and single-user. There's no shared workspace, no admin console, and no one above the manager can read their notes โ€” it captures what a manager personally observed, not what their people do. It is not an HRIS, a task or project manager, employee surveillance, or a shared performance system. The most sensitive notes can be sealed into Black Box, an end-to-end, on-device encrypted vault available from the free plan.

Pricing: Free forever โ€” unlimited people, up to 100 tagged notes a month, on web and iOS. Pro is โ‚ฌ15/month (or yearly, at a discount) and adds unlimited notes, AI-drafted recaps and review drafts, and higher capture limits.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Logseq and Notivo.

What makes your product unique?

Notivo's answer:

Notivo is private to the one manager who writes in it โ€” not a shared team tool or HR platform. It captures observations (feedback, commitments, wins, concerns) the moment they happen, tagged by person, and can save a note straight from a ChatGPT or Claude conversation. On the Pro plan, it reads those notes back as an AI-drafted recap, built only from what the manager actually wrote.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Notivo's answer:

Generic notes apps weren't built around people โ€” Notivo organizes everything by person from the first note. It captures directly from the web, iOS, WhatsApp, email, ChatGPT, or Claude, so context doesn't need to be copied over manually. And unlike shared 1:1 or performance tools, it stays fully private to the manager who writes in it.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Notivo's answer:

Engineering managers, team leads, and people managers at companies of any size who run recurring 1:1s, write performance reviews, or simply need to remember what their team did over months, not just the last few weeks.

What's the story behind your product?

Notivo's answer:

Notivo started from a simple observation: the moments that shape how someone grows happen quietly, in passing, and are usually gone by review season. Rather than build another dashboard, the team built a private notebook that captures what a manager personally noticed, organized by person, so their own judgment has a memory to draw on.

Logseq vs Roam Research vs Obsidian: which one should you choose?
Refined user interface: Logseq offers a refined user interface that is easy to understand and pleasing to the eyes. On the other hand, Obsidian looks like a jumble of various UI elements which are hard to figure out and look daunting. Logseq wins this round for me, hands down. โ€“ The only reason to choose Obsidianโ€™s user interface over Logseqโ€™s is that the former is far more...

Obsidian vs. Roam vs. LogSeq: Which PKM App is Right For You?
While LogSeq and Roam function very similarly, LogSeq isnโ€™t quite as refined. Thereโ€™s a lot of thought that went into Roamโ€™s simple interface, and while we appreciate that LogSeq is trying to push things forward in specific areas (like the addition of a Journals page), it doesnโ€™t feel quite as smooth.
