Managers forget the quiet quarter, not the loud week. Guide: Notivo is private by default and single-user. There's no shared workspace, no admin console, and no one above the manager can read their notes โ it captures what a manager personally observed, not what their people do. It is not an HRIS, a task or project manager, employee surveillance, or a shared performance system. The most sensitive notes can be sealed into Black Box, an end-to-end, on-device encrypted vault available from the free plan.

Notivo is private to the one manager who writes in it โ not a shared team tool or HR platform. It captures observations (feedback, commitments, wins, concerns) the moment they happen, tagged by person, and can save a note straight from a ChatGPT or Claude conversation. The Zettelkasten method is a knowledge management system that helps organise ideas effectively. I believe this system would work well for myself, so I have been looking at applications such a Logseq and Zettlr as a result.
