Also ask the developer how they want to work, and if there is a software they like to use to facilitate the work. Are they Kanban? Scrum? Waterfall? Watch a video or two on the do's and don't of the one method the Dev wants to use, so you know what to expect if your developer asks you for a "Story" or a "Task" or a "Ticket" or if you need to 'clarify acceptance criteria', which is literally what I was doing at... I have sent them some user stories, complete with storyboard images. I am not a beta participant though. I suggested that it would be helpful if they rolled out something like UserVoice's Feedback Manager, so there is transparency to what's in the request queue and where we users can formally vote on the value of a given feature suggestion. I think that RM should consider a solution such as UserVoice which will let the user community vote on what critical bug fixes or new features we feel are most important.
