Great, thank you. This draw.io is pretty cool. You're right - it does seem like a lot, but I what I find really helpful is just some of the terms and programs you and the other responses are mentioning. I think it's a matter of not getting ahead of myself, or too excited about one thing, but even just to read some terms that these responses use casually but are completely new to me (or perhaps take on a different meaning to me than to someone with a programming background), gives me an idea of where to start when I want to Google, in addition to the things you've suggested here. So thanks again. I will be revisiting this comment as I go forward with this process.

Also ask the developer how they want to work, and if there is a software they like to use to facilitate the work. Are they Kanban? Scrum? Waterfall? Watch a video or two on the do's and don't of the one method the Dev wants to use, so you know what to expect if your developer asks you for a "Story" or a "Task" or a "Ticket" or if you need to 'clarify acceptance criteria', which is literally what I was doing at work before writing this answer.
