StepMelon is a step tracking app for Apple Watch, Wear OS, iPhone, and Android that takes a different approach to fitness. Instead of one rigid daily goal, StepMelon gives you three customizable goals and built-in rest days โ because sustainable fitness includes recovery.
Most step trackers give you a single daily target. Miss it, and you feel like you've failed. StepMelon uses a three-tier system:
No matter where you land, you've hit at least one goal. That positive reinforcement keeps people coming back.
You get 2 rest days each week. Use them for sick days, recovery, travel, or mental health days. Your streak continues through rest days because consistency with recovery IS consistency.
Free: - Multiple step goals (minimum, target, stretch) - 2 rest days per week - Step, distance, and floor tracking - Watch face complications - Basic historical data
Premium ($2.99/month or $19.99/year): - Streaks and 16 unlockable achievements - Daily challenges (4 types) - 7 lifetime milestones (100K to 50M steps) - Seasonal events with collectible badges - Smart insights and predictions - Advanced theme customization - Priority support
All your data stays on your devices. No tracking, no data collection, no accounts required.

StepMelon's answer:
StepMelon is the only step tracker with a three-tier goal system (minimum, target, stretch) instead of just one daily target. This means every day feels like a win โ even on slower days, you've still hit your minimum goal.
We also built in 2 rest days per week that don't break your streak. Most fitness apps punish you for taking a day off. StepMelon recognizes that sustainable fitness includes recovery.
Other differentiators: - Privacy-first: All data stays on your devices. No accounts, no servers, no data collection - Fun watermelon theme: Not another gray fitness app โ StepMelon brings personality to step tracking - Apple Watch native: Built specifically for Apple Watch with multiple watch face complications
StepMelon's answer:
Most step trackers like StepsApp, Pedometer++, and Pacer give you a single daily goal. Miss it, and your streak breaks. StepMelon takes a fundamentally different approach:
If you want a step tracker that celebrates progress instead of punishing imperfection, StepMelon is the clear choice.
StepMelon's answer:
StepMelon is designed for Apple Watch users who want to stay active without the pressure of rigid fitness goals. Our primary audiences include:
Our users tend to value sustainable habits over aggressive targets. They want motivation, not guilt.
StepMelon's answer:
StepMelon started from a simple frustration: every step tracking app punished you for having an off day. Miss your 10,000-step goal once, and your streak resets to zero. That felt wrong.
We believed fitness tracking should encourage consistency with recovery, not create an all-or-nothing mentality. So we designed a step tracker around how real life works โ some days you're active, some days you rest, and that's perfectly healthy.
The three-tier goal system came from asking: "What if every day could feel like a win?" Whether you hit 5,000 steps or 15,000, you've achieved something meaningful.
The watermelon theme? We wanted step tracking to feel fun and fresh, not clinical. Health apps don't have to be boring.
StepMelon launched in February 2026 for Apple Watch, built by Sandia Software Services with a commitment to privacy-first design and sustainable fitness habits.

My routine involves using noise cancelling headphones and using an app on my phone called Insight timer. Depending on if I'm working in the office or working from home, I'll always find 5-10 minutes at the same time every day to sit and complete a guided session. It doesn't need to be a long session, it just needs to be regular. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
I use Insight-Timer. It's a great app. The Yoga Nidra helps me focus my mind on the " right here, right now" by focusing my attention on my breath and physical sensations I feel in different parts of my body. I usually fall asleep before the end of the meditation (about 10-15 minutes) and sometimes my wife tells me I'm out in less than 2 minutes. Https://insighttimer.com or check the app store. Insight Timer is free and has literally thousands of meditations, music, sounds, etc. It's fun to poke around and find a style/person that's helpful. I found that I like guided meditations with background music so I can turn off the rest of my brain. When you feel a migraine come on or even have a worry about one happening you can pop on a track and get yourself out of that negative feedback loop. Wishing you... Source: about 3 years ago
