Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing GrineoPay and CommitCat.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

GrineoPay's answer

Unlike competitors who act as middlemen—holding your funds for days, enforcing weeks of compliance paperwork, and charging 1-3% plus hidden markups—GrineoPay gets out of your way. You keep your keys, you keep your coins, and you pay a transparent flat 0.5%. Furthermore, because our system is inherently chargeback-proof and permissionless, we actively welcome high-risk industries that traditional crypto processors routinely reject or penalize with rolling reserves.

What makes your product unique?

GrineoPay's answer

GrineoPay is unique because it is a truly non-custodial gateway. We do not hold, store, or touch merchant funds at any point—payments settle directly from the customer's wallet to the merchant's wallet in the original cryptocurrency. Combined with zero KYB/KYC requirements, instant onboarding, and a flat 0.5% fee, we offer a level of financial autonomy and speed that custodial crypto gateways simply cannot match.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

GrineoPay's answer

Our primary audience spans two main groups: forward-thinking standard e-commerce stores and SaaS platforms looking for a borderless, low-fee payment rail, and high-risk industries (such as adult entertainment, CBD, gaming, and digital goods) who are systematically de-banked by traditional processors and need a reliable, censorship-resistant alternative to accept payments.

What's the story behind your product?

GrineoPay's answer

GrineoPay was born out of frustration with the current crypto payment landscape. We realized that existing crypto gateways weren't actually decentralizing money—they were just replicating traditional banks by holding customer funds, demanding invasive compliance, and taking massive cuts. We built GrineoPay to deliver on the actual promise of crypto: permissionless, peer-to-peer, non-custodial commerce where the merchant is truly in control of their revenue from the second the transaction hits the blockchain.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

GrineoPay's answer

Global digital goods and SaaS platforms; High-traffic adult entertainment networks; CBD and hemp e-commerce brands; iGaming and online casino operators; Freelance and digital services marketplaces; Web3 and crypto-native tooling companies.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

GrineoPay's answer

GrineoPay is built on a modern, highly scalable technology stack designed to handle real-time blockchain monitoring, secure non-custodial routing, and seamless e-commerce integrations.

Here are the primary technologies powering our infrastructure:

  • Backend Architecture: We utilize a robust combination of PHP/Laravel—which allows for seamless, native integrations with the massive WordPress and WooCommerce ecosystem—paired with Node.js microservices to handle asynchronous, high-concurrency tasks like real-time websocket connections.
  • Web3 & Blockchain Layer: To support our multi-chain environment (BTC, ETH, SOL, USDT, etc.), we utilize a mix of dedicated node networks and optimized RPC providers. Our smart contract and blockchain interactions are powered by libraries like Ethers.js and Web3.js for EVM-compatible chains, @solana/web3.js for the Solana network, and custom Bitcoin RPC integrations for UTXO tracking.
  • Real-Time Monitoring Engine: Because we offer instant payouts, we don't rely on slow polling. Our backend uses persistent WebSockets to listen directly to blockchain mempools and new block events, allowing us to verify transactions the second they are broadcast.
  • Frontend & Dashboard: The merchant dashboard and our branded checkout experiences are built using React.js. This ensures a highly reactive, single-page application feel for merchants managing transactions, generating payment links, and viewing real-time analytics.
  • Database & Caching: For fast, reliable data storage of merchant configurations, invoice states, and webhook logs, we rely on PostgreSQL. To handle the high volume of temporary session data and rate-limit caching, we use Redis.
  • API Infrastructure: All of our public-facing integrations, including our custom API for developers and our plugins for platforms like Shopify, PrestaShop, and WHMCS, are served through RESTful APIs secured with industry-standard JWT and HMAC authentication.
