I'll have to try this out. I'm currently a huge GitKraken[1] fan. [1] https://gitkraken.com. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
The Git CLI is terrifying and awful. It's far too easy to clobber your own work -- and that of others -- when the whole point of it was to prevent that. While you still need to really deeply understand several git concepts to use it, GitKraken[0] is the best GUI tool I've used in daily practice. It integrates well with git hosts and has an attractive and mostly comprehensible interface. Accordingly, it isn't free... - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
I like GitKraken partially because it was originally loosely based on the look/feel of Guitar Hero. Source: over 4 years ago
This experience was also invaluable because I had a walking fountain of knowledge sitting next to me and was really cool about answering my questions and pointing out all code style errors in countless PR reviews. I cannot count the amount of times he had to explain me the whole rebase workflow. Other considerations --I'm going to use tableplop https://new.tableplop.com/ for the VTT. Just positioning and potentially rolling dice (I also have a 3d dice room) -- no automation. If you're looking for a theater of the mind game, this won't be a good fit -- I like/enjoy battlemaps and tokens and make fancy ones. Source: almost 3 years ago
I recommend https://new.tableplop.com/ Simple and only took me like an afternoon to get the hang of it. I use dungeon draft for map making and it works pretty good too. Source: over 3 years ago
If the group wants we could use some online service for the visual part of the encounters like this service https://new.tableplop.com/ all narration and reply goes here to keep it play by post. Source: over 3 years ago
If you want something simple like Owlbear, what about TablePlop it has the simplicity of Owlbear while having Character Sheets like Roll20. You can send pre typed messages in the chat for rolls, you can do rolls yourself, it even has fog of war. I have been using this ever since it's beta stages and I love it. haven't changed VTTs ever since. Source: over 3 years ago
Currently on https://new.tableplop.com, amazed that it is not mentioned much. Owlbear with just a little bit more while staying simple. Source: over 3 years ago
