Iโm not going to dive into Git commands here โ you can find plenty of tutorials online. If youโre not a fan of using the plain terminal CLI, you can also manage repositories with tools like GitHub Desktop or SourceTree, which provide a more visual, intuitive interface. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
Using terminal commands isnโt necessary for basic adoption of Git with Corticon Studio files, though. There are various tools that will allow us to bypass the command line when defining rules, including the built-in Eclipse plugin for Git version control. If youโll be storing your assets on GitHub, though, an even easier solution is GitHub Desktop, a free desktop software that GitHub offers. It can be used in... - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
Nix currently is akin to git's "porcelain": powerful but esoteric. However, much like git evolved into exoteric, user-friendly tools such as git-flow, GitHub Desktop, and Tower to become user-friendly, many developers are building abstractions, wrappers, and utilities to simplify Nix usage. Let's briefly look at a few of these tools now. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
Iโm working on my indie blogging platform, Pagecord (https://pagecord.com). It started as a fun side project but is gaining decent traction right now - Iโm convinced thereโs a blogging renaissance about to happen! :) Iโve been focused on decentralising it, offering ways for bloggers to write locally (markdown, Obsidian) while hosting remotely on the platform. I think itโs a great way of working. Most people still... - Source: Hacker News / 10 days ago
I agree! That's why I built Pagecord. Like Substack it's a blog with a mailing list, but it's also your personal website (pages, for example) with a custom domain. Also, source available. Most people will defer to Substack because (A) the brand, and (B) it can be monetised which is probably the biggest draw. Maybe I need to bring monetisation to Pagecord? :) https://pagecord.com. - Source: Hacker News / 22 days ago
Pagecord! A personal website and blog... That you'll actually keep updated. It's an all-in-one, open source blogging/site analytics/newsletter platform that takes privacy seriously and is priced affordably (plus a free plan, obvs). Would love your feedback if you have a few mins to spare. The goal is to make you write more! https://pagecord.com. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
Pagecord. Blog without the slog. Blogging is more unpopular than ever but Pagecord is somehow growing in popularity. Keen to know what people here think. https://pagecord.com. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
Iโm building Pagecord: โBlog without the slogโ. https://pagecord.com To goal is to make you write more. Tonnes of features, including posting by email (my favourite way to blog). I love blogging and I want more people to go back to writing on their own blog and reduce time on the socials. It seems to be striking a chord with people. Free classic plan, bargain premium plan at only $29/year. Source available (Rails)... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
